I'm sure I recall when Wigan beat the Sharks, there was a big sign at the 'sculpture' roundabout coming off J25 saying, welcome to Wigan home of the world champions. And at one time, I'm sure it also commemorated Leigh too (when the won the CC?). I see nothing like that this year. There's a small sign on Chapel Lane, which you'd easily miss.

Meanwhile, turn off the M6 at J26, come to the traffic lights at the T-junction. Left for Ashton, right for St Helens. Few yards down the road, there's a massive sign with Walmsley's grinning mush on it: "Welcome to St Helens, home of the World Champions".

Get it taken down!

Yes, that's right. The Ashton turn-off.

But the point remains.

If its not an outdated world champion sign it's an outdated Michael Smith world champion sign,if they leave em up long enough it might come full circle.
