Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Presumably with Field not in the squad it means that Hampshire will be full back again, or possibly move Bevan there, as Hampshire had an absolute stinker there last time.

Rocky may be better at Cas with him used to playing on that pitch 🤔

Wigan star set for spell on sidelines, new signings in line for debut

SUPER LEAGUESuper League Team News: Wigan star set for spell on sidelines, new signings in line for debut

The team news for the three Friday night Super League fixtures has been confirmed, with some surprise omissions and players lined up for debuts.

Here’s a round-up of all the major news ahead of these Round 14 fixtures

Castleford Tigers v Wigan Warriors

Castleford will hope to make the most of their rest as they take on the new Challenge Cup winners, Wigan Warriors, at Wheldon Road.

Two big names drop out of the side, as leadership duo Paul McShane and Joe Westerman won’t be in action, after not being named in the 21-man squad.

However, just after being announced on a two-week initial loan deal from Huddersfield Giants, prop Matty English is in the squad, and could play his first ever professional club match in a side other than the Giants.

Samy Kibula also moves into the squad in the only other change from last time out.

Meanwhile, Wigan play their first game since becoming the third side in the Super League era to hold all four major trophies at the same time.

There’s just one change from the squad named for the Challenge Cup final, as fullback Jai Field drops out, replaced by Jack Farrimond.

Field looks set for a potentially extended spell on the sidelines with head coach, Matt Peet, stating, “Jai has a hamstring pull which requires a scan, so we’re waiting on some more information there.”

Ide like to see farrimond given the chance for the next two games with bevan at fullback.Keighran will be back after that and we will have more room to shuffle players injuries depending
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

I like Rocky and I think he's been very professional in his second stint. Always looks enthusiastic in warm ups when he's not included etc, however last week at Wire he was absolutely abysmal. I don't want to see him at fullback again. He was very exposed. I'd have him in the halves or at a push on the wing if desperately needed (after Douglas). Same in the halves, I'd rather see Farrimond get game time over him. Maybe have him in the halves against London but I think he'd struggle against Cas

For me this is the time not to gaff around with players such as Hampshire but start to look at the young lads get them and see what they can do,to me this is the start of something very special and the sooner they get a taste of the first team the better,we can’t allow another Nicholson situation to arise if at all possible.

Plus Hampshire was abysmal against Warrington so what’s to lose against a cas side that’s no better than hull and London

Play the main players in the pack and most in the backs and half backs v Cas.
Bring in who has to for Field.

If players need resting there are two choices.
There's the London game then the International Game.
For the players who will join the International squad rest them against London.
Those not selected for the Intl Game will have the week off then, so play them against London.

I don't think MP's selection will be far from that.
