Re: Jai Field
JK makes a good point but I think we'll see Rocky and Jack at 6 and 7 on Friday. If either plays well enough I think they'll be paired with Harry next week. I know that Jack is seen as a 7 but, assuming Harry stays at the club for longer than Bevan I think we need to see if Jack and Harry can play as a pair. Jack is such a talented (and young) player that I can't see why he wouldn't be able to adapt to play at 6.

I saw some footage of keighran at 6 and he looked decent with a good running and kicking game

With no game next week I wouldn't change too much . Don't want to be going into the Leigh game undercooked.

Just my two penarth and please put me right but FB options are:
Rocky - not shown up too well
Reagan Sumner - regular FB for Academy and now Reserves, decent prospect
Noah Hodgkinson(?) - very limited experience for the Reserves
Ecky - not much experience
Douglas - even less experience
Bevan - well, hes Bevan French!
?

Yes I tend to agree. Keighran has form at 6 and helped get the Cats to Old Trafford last year when injuries hit them he looked more than adequateFirestarter wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 6:20 pm I saw some footage of keighran at 6 and he looked decent with a good running and kicking game

Good solid common sense. I'm sure this is what Peet will do.Jonathon Kerr (JK) wrote: ↑Wed Jun 19, 2024 3:18 pm Get this week out the way then I think Keighran moves to 6 and Eckersley keeps his spot for now.
And equally sure that Matty wouldn't entertain signing Conner at any price/time. He's big on the team as family/mates and all the boys dong stuff, and results say he's right. However talented Jake Conner may be, he has the form to completely disrupt the team. Think Zac Hardaket - how talented was/is he?

Re: Jai Field
I don't know if anybody else picked this up, but early on in lasts night's game, Jon Wilkin said a couple of times that Jai Field is likely to be out for 12 weeks. Does he know something we don't know?

Re: Jai Field
I think that 12 weeks may have been the original prognosis but following his scans it has been revised to six weeks. The sooner he is back the better, his absence unbalances the team both defensively and offensively. I am not of the view that French should continue to play fullback, our best combination at halfback is Harry and Bevan so in my mind we should be identifying who is best suited to playing No.1 rather than shifting the whole team around.
Re: Jai Field
I agree with your assessment it’s perhaps too soon to bring in young Farrinond has well has he played last night providing that we can find adequate fullback.

Re: Jai Field
I have no problem bringing in farrimond sooner rather than later. We all saw what he had.He will only get better with experience and is obviously the best prospect we have had since sam tomkins
