East Stand Queues

Post by W1GANER »

Does anyone know the reason for the massive queues last night at the east stand?
One queue was all the way round to the south stand, it’s not normally like that and I hope it’s not like that against them lot over hill on Friday night.

Heard that a few were also having issues in SS trying to get in using the digital tickets on their phones.

There was no issue as such
As per the Hudds game earlier in the year hundreds, literally hundreds of people were queuing around to the South stand in the first 2 turnstiles
Whilst if you walked past them the next 2 turnstiles were maybe 15/20 in the queue

And

At the the North stand there was literally no-one in the queues to the 5/6 turnstiles

I walked down, asked for the steward in charge of thise turnstiles, asked him why were they stood there doing nothing when literally hundreds were queuing around the back of the south stand less than 10mins before kick off?
I walked him back to the south end of the east stand showed him what was going on and they said to everyone to everyone to come down to the other end.

As I was walking back with loads then following me to the other turnstiles one of the Head stewards was walking towards me, told her what had happened and said they need to communicate more

I'm going to email the club to tell them that they need the stewards to do more than just stand at the turnstile
They need to communicate and work with the fans to spread the loads rather than have hundreds stretching round the south stand who've Judy walked out the fans village, saw a queue and just got in it

Just finished writing a complaint to the club about the ticketing system on Friday. Spent half an hour trying to buy tickets to the East Stand online from around 6pm, but failed because it kept timing out. This caused a last minute arrival at the ticket office where there was a short queue, but was moving extremely slowly. Main reason seemed to be the staff member having to enter the customers debit card number into the computer and then verifying my address. Why do they need to do this?

It won't stop me coming again, but it was disappointing to miss the first 20 minutes of such a brilliant game because of needless bureaucracy.

I know it's better to book in good time, but I'm in a position where domestic circumstances mean it's usually a late decision whether I can come or not. Really I think we have a right to expect electronic ticketing systems to work more efficently as time goes on, but this one is the most diabolically designed one I've had to deal with.

I went last week to get two Leeds tickets for myself & my friend who takes me to all away games, it took at least twenty minutes!! I was given the third degree by a young girl. Only one window open as usual.

What is your name? Typed it in. What’s your address? Typed it in. Are you a season ticket holder? Typed it in.

Who is the other ticket for? The same rigmarole as above, name, address, season ticket holder all typed in!

Went to get the tickets?

Why can’t they just ask for your client code?

There was never all this hassle before when the older staff knew or recognised you or when you bought away tickets in the club shop. You went asked for tickets got them & paid for them!

It’s a bloody shambles of a situation & ticketing system IMO & really does my head in! 🤯

Plus you can’t buy caters tickets online you have to physically go to the ticket office 🙁
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

This season has in terms of ticketing been an abject shambles how much longer are people having to wait for the ticketing issue to be sorted while the crumbs thrown out from Wigan towers is “shut up,give us your money we know it’s better for you”(ok not in those words but it’s clear the sentiment is just that),it’s simply not good enough,it should be by now all sorted but it seems still a big problem.

What is the email address that you use?

Do you expect a reply? Does the club take emails seriously as Friday night could be horrendous.

I sent a couple of emails to the Club and not the Ticket Office earlier in the season, to complain about the ticketing issues, nobody ever got back to me, to explain or apologise.
They never appear to be bothered.
