NEWSBen Reynolds finds new club hours after Hull KR release

Post by josie andrews »

Featherstone Rovers have announced the re-signing of half-back Ben Reynolds after the playmaker had his loan deal at Hull FC cut short earlier today.

Hull FC announced that they had ended the loan agreement for Reynolds from their rivals Hull KR with the Black and Whites confirming that the departure was to allow the 30-year-old to sign an 18-month contract with another team, however, it’s now been confirmed by Featherstone that the deal is only six months and until the end of 2024.

The statement from Hull FC read: “Hull FC can confirm that Ben Reynolds’ loan spell with the club has ended.

Grix: Performance wasn't perfect but...

The player has taken an option to join another club on a permanent 18-month contract.”

Hull KR followed that up with an even blunter statement, posting: “Hull KR can confirm the club have terminated Ben Reynolds contract by mutual agreement.”

The Robins had signed Reynolds from Featherstone Rovers before he had even got a chance to play a league game for the club, but he now returns with immediate effect.

The Robins had signed Reynolds from Featherstone Rovers before he had even got a chance to play a league game for the club, but he now returns with immediate effect.

Featherstone Rovers had signed Ben Reynolds ahead of the 2024 season but with the Championship campaign kicking off later in 2024, the half never actually played a game in the league for them.

That was because Hull KR signed the ex-Leigh man to provide half-back cover behind Mikey Lewis and Tyrone May after losing Jordan Abdull to Catalans Dragons.

The Rohins loaned Reynolds out to rivals Hull FC after he made just one appearance in red and white but he’ll now be doing navy after signing for Featherstone for a second time.

Featherstone Rovers confirmed his signing with the following statement: “Featherstone Rovers are delighted to announce the signing of Ben Reynolds until the end of the 2024 season.

“Reynolds returns to the Club after a short spell at Hull KR where he was playing on-loan for their neighbours Hull FC.

“After ending his arrangement with Hull KR, Reynolds approached the Club about the opportunity to return on a deal until the end of the season.”

He said: “I’m really happy to be back at Featherstone and I’m fully focused on helping the Club by playing my best rugby.

“We have a real strong group here at Featherstone with plenty of quality players and I’m really confident we can start to kick on and hit the levels we know we can hit in the coming weeks.

“I’m now looking forward to getting back into training with the boys and giving my all for the Club starting this Sunday with an important game against Halifax.”

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
