Magic fixture is a league gameDaveO wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 8:50 pm What a stupid idea. It will have zero benefit to the game here and will piss off far more fans than it pleases
If they really want to do this why not make it in lue of a Magic fixture between the two? I suppose its more important to the RFL to protect that game than the league fixtures.

With all this Vegas promotion, it looks like they have forgotten that it's Wigan v Stains this Friday.
Appears to have taken a back seat, when it should have been at the forefront of all the conversations.
Let's hope the team isn't distracted and put in the best performance of the season, we owe them one.

I don’t think the coaches and players will have been distracted.Ipinwigan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 9:17 pm With all this Vegas promotion, it looks like they have forgotten that it's Wigan v Stains this Friday.

I meant more important than Wigan’s league game at home. Neither team plays at home at Magic obviously . So take the original home game to the US but play the magic fixture at home instead of in Leeds. The rest of the league can carry on with the Magic weekend in Leeds.nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 9:02 pmMagic fixture is a league gameDaveO wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2024 8:50 pm What a stupid idea. This would effectively Wigan and Warrington were dropping out of Magic to achieve whatever playing in Vegas is supposed to achieve. Not reducing the number of home games for one of the teams.
Re: Vegas here we come
Could well be we do actually play them, in one of the loop fixtures. Going off the current league table we are due to have a second game with them, if positions remain the same.

It's one match, Christ on a bike, some fans are acting like somebody broke into their house, knocked up their daughter and stole their flat cap and whippet.
It's a match that's going to be played on the big stage, It could create hundreds if not thousands of new fans who in turn would buy shirts and other merchandise as well as some attending matches and on the plus side if the NRL crack America they might stop cherry picking British youngsters, I imagine there will be a wealth of talent waiting to be found over there

It’s not a one off though is it, this will be the third time Wigan have given up a home fixture to help the NFL s quest for global domination, what did Wigan actually achieve from their road games at Millwall and in Australia

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
