How many minutes did he play tonight?

Heard comments from others about Mago’s short spell but he wasn’t easily knocked off his feet by a centre..

Not sure what he is bringing right now

Its definately a worry pal.All his defenders on here picked up on him playing injured last season( thats fair enough), but is he still injured because him and dupree arnt great. Luckily other forwards are absolutely killing it and im sure both, along with walters will come good.Great pass off walters for keighrans try though

He's simply not good enough. If I was his size id be flattening props for fun. His legs seem to fold when he gos into contact. I am a fan of Mago but as mentioned he's not been his best recently and the same can be said for Dupree. We are lucky we have so many quality forwards that we can get away with it. Hopefully they can get back to the levels that we need from them.

I think all the bench players struggled tonight.
The pace and intensity was too much for them coming off the bench. After sitting down for 25 mins to get up to that intensity was too much. Byrne, Mago and Walters I thought found it especially difficult. Hill had a good go but he wasn't anything like at the level the others were.
Havard, Thompson, Farrell, Ellis were reaching incredible levels of play and fitness. When Nsemba was replaced by Walters, Sam couldn't get anywhere near the level Junior had been playing at.

Saints fans pointing out that Wellens only used two interchange players and they played with 15 players. He also could see his bench players would struggle to get to that level. He obviously decided that two of them wouldn't be up to it and didn't use them.

Can't blame Wellens for that. His decision to make and our lads only went into the lead with around 15 to go.

Hasn’t kicked on and taken things to the next level and may have possibly gone backwards.

If Hill continues his progression you would expect Byrne to be heading somewhere like Leigh or Salford soon.

He runs too upright, which is a huge issue and probably isn’t going to be resolved now. This is why he gets dominated so often. Compare his running style / stance to Havard who runs in between defenders and then changes his angle as he gets closer…

Rads made a comment the other year how Wigan took a gamble on signing and players lots of young forwards, sadly only going to be Havard left out of the crop he was referring to.

Momentum is mass times velocity, sort of weight times speed. If someone is moving very quickly, as Percival was, they would be able to knock over someone much heavier who wasn't. A question of timing and accuracy rather than anything else I think.

Lets be honest he only gets in the team when we have injuries so cant be too hard on him but he certainly does not use his size effectively because he is a very big human

Again hes a squad player and will do a job when there are injuries, i cant imagine hes on mega bucks and for what he gives i cant think of a replacement of the top of my head. We are blessed with a very good pack now its inevitable we need some lower end players to balance the books

That’s exactly what I was thinking Morley 😂
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
