Didn’t turn up for 70 minutes and gifted the game to Hull as a result. It wasn’t about missing French but poor application from the 17 on the pitch.

When is Field due back? He’s supposedly been running around in training like a spring chicken.

When Field is back, we need to move Eckersley to Keighran's centre and drop Keighran, he had a poor game and Eckersley was one of our best players again today

I was going to post that Byrne must start if he plays but he has shown he can have an impact off the bench.

A good few looked gassed from the start, we saw little of Ellis (maybe due to lack of go forward), Smith off-colour and the poor decision making spread through the team.

It started last week, which seems to indicate that he’s lacking in faith that Eckersley and Farrimond can bring the attacking threat Field/French can but the two young lads (especially Eckersley) are doing fine and we had them every time on that left hand side, late in the game, yet Smith kept looking to kick possession away.

I love Harry Smith, he’s the ultimate big game player but by the same token, he’s really poor when the games come round we expect to win. He just can’t seem to concentrate for the life of him. I’d rather it be that way around but he needs to rid it from his game.

I’d certainly be asking if he fancied coming back that’s for sure
