Thing is with wire they will never improve if they keep reverting back to their old ways.I honestly thought they had turned the corner this season with signing hungry players and bringing theough good kids.A few injuries and its same old wire.Just sogn anybody and we will be the best.I loved batty at wigan but this is definately a backwards step

They have got Bullock out on loan at Salford, but his wage comapred to the incomming players will, presumably, be far less.
They also have Fitzgibbon as a long term injury, who presumably, they are still paying!!!
Re: Bateman to wire
In fairness they have got rid of a couple of players but enough to cover this lad and Yates (who frankly I think is an excellent signing) I’m not sure but if anyone can get a tune out of Bateman I’ll bet big Sam can

Field, French, Thompson, Farrell, smith, O’Neil - definite high earners
Wardle, Keighran, Ellis, Mago - won’t be cheap
Dupree, Marshall, Havard, Cooper - could be earning decent
Bomhead - "Lockers to prop."

Re: Bateman to wire
I wouldn't want Bateman back at Wigan but he will bring about a short term improvement for them. I know that a lot of our fans don't feel that wire will provide a major threat this season (or next?) because they've flattered to deceive so many times before. However, if they win on Friday (and I think they will) the momentum will be with them for the rest of the season. We'll then have to 'up our game' to win the GF this time around. All this talk in the press, and by some of our fans, about a new era of Wigan domination are premature. We're not that good yet and need to constantly look for improvements both in the squad where possible and in our performances on the pitch. We've done really well to win the WCC, the Challenge Cup and to lead the league but we do need to keep pushing forward to keep the rest at bay.

Re: Bateman to wire
Bateman is a good player, he seemed to have lost the need to prove himself, which made him exceptional but he will improve Wire
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
