All this, he's (Farrimond) three or four years off... I'm of the view, if you're good enough, you're old enough. There's lads of 18, 19, directing some of the top sides in the NRL around the park.
Doesn't Liam Marshall prove this statement wrong. He wasn't good enough and went away put in the work and was rewarded.
Hampshire another example he had the talent just never translated to superleague level.
Farrimond would have benefited form being in the first team having the odd game and learning along side smith and French.
Talent is one thing, experience is key to any job.
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.
Not much to add to what's been said, but it seemed to me a big factor was the slowness of our play the ball. It was wasy for Warrington to stop our "go forward" because their line speed took them into our forward's faces as soon as they received the ball. Field and French absences not relevant there.
Maybe Peet needs to bring in the wrestling coach to speed it up?
I concur with those saying Farrimond needs to be pulled out for a while - he's more of a liability than an asset at the moment. If Hampshire is really so bad, what about other alternatives like Keighran or Leeming at half back?
I think Peet miscalculated by failing to select his strongest team - if Leeming and Field were fit to play they should have been in.

Leeming and Field weren't fit to play that's why they didn't!
Walters looks like a Leeds player in a Wigan kit at the moment. He's not yet understood what is required to defend in the Wigan line, or the level of concentration required to be part of our attack.
My biggest concern is the defence. The has to be Peets #1 priority to fix up because its been poor that last two weeks and you don't need our best team out there to defend in the wigan way. The attack will look after itself, and if it doesn't we should be able to defend our way to victories. Get it sorted.
I agree, it is the simple things that are killing us. As you point out Mike our defence has been poor and our ball retention equally as bad. Back to the basics on Thursday.

No, the fact Marshall wasn’t good enough does not mean a different 18/19 year old isn’t good enough. It’s obviously possible for one 18/19 year old not to be good enough while another is. The key point being are they good enough, now how old they are.
No doubt that was an embarrassing match. Especially for me being born in Warrington (I didn't ask to be, and had to go to school with Wire and Leigh fans including when we were relegated!).
BUT... last year we conceded 40 to a 12 man Leeds team, and we currently hold every trophy available to us. All I know is the game is played by humans , not robots, and Rugby League is a unique game in the way that it punishes any weakness and exploits it ruthlessly, unlike say football, where a poor United team can go to Anfield and get a scoreless draw.
So let's learn from the last couple of weeks, take any necessary difficult decisions, but don't panic...

It is also possible that Farrimond makes it in the future but just isn’t quite ready yet and would benefit more from smaller periods in the first team rather than being completely relied upon.
For every star who hits the ground running there is another one who is a slow burner and takes a while to make the step up.

Not sure MP is the Messiah. As has been alluded to already I think certain players (mentioning no names, but we all know who they are) have carried us . I know MP is a lovely chap but I’m not sure he is suited to the cut and thrust of coaching at the highest level. As EEP has said, why the heck does Smith kick on every last ptb , so predictable. Even an idiot like me can see we need to mix it up a bit.
Why we would play with 4 props on the bench when we have a young lad in the halves and the possibility of an injury to a back is beyond me. In a close game it may pay off but if you are up against it attack wise as we were tonight it gives us no options to try something different.
Also, if anyone is in doubt about Byrne’s suitability as a Wigan player I hope tonight’s effort has convinced you he just hasn’t got the temperament to make it as a starting prop (although not many convinced tonight but they at least have credit in the bank).
I think we should also be looking at a new right sided winger as I think Miski for all of his endeavours lacks the pace to worry the opposition ( not just because he had a stinker tonight ). We
Yes he’s a very ordinary coach and should be replaced immediately. I think he’s been in charge for 86 matches and has only managed to win 2 Challenge Cups, 1 League Leader’s Shield, 1 Grand Final and a World Club Challenge. That’s a very ordinary record. What!!!? Let’s be honest, even the great Wayne Bennett gets it’s wrong sometimes.
