Mago: Come out firing
* Patrick Mago is looking forward to a third meeting of the Betfred Super League season against Leigh Leopards.
* Mago: “It will be up to us to come out firing in front of our home support with our best foot forward.”
* Tickets for our clash against the Leopards can be purchased online HERE.
PATRICK MAGO IS LOOKING FORWARD TO A THIRD MEETING OF THE BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE SEASON AGAINST LEIGH LEOPARDS.
Reflecting on the Warriors’ victory over Huddersfield Giants last time out, Mago said: “It was a tough game. Huddersfield came out strong so we knew we had to be at our best in the second half to get the win. Faz gave a a simple but needed message in the dressing room and thankfully we turned the game around to get back in the winners circle.”
The Warriors returned to winning ways against the Giants, and on the importance of the two points, Mago said: “No one likes losing and after back-to-back defeats it was important we got back to winning ways to boost our confidence. We’ve got some work to do first but the aim now will be to follow this win up with another against Leigh on Tuesday.”
Speaking on the short turnaround between recent matches, Mago said: “Recovery has been the most important element in-between games. It was a short turnaround from Warrington and now an even shorter one to Leigh so it’s been important that we’ve made sure we are all fit and in best health.”
The Warriors face an in-form Leigh Leopards at The Brick Community Stadium on Tuesday night in the rearranged Betfred Super League Round 2 fixture which was initially postponed due to the Club’s involvement in the Betfred World Club Challenge.
Looking ahead to the clash against the Leopards, Mago said: “We know that it’s going to be another tough contest as Leigh always come out strong but it’s one we are all looking forward to. It will be up to us to come out firing in front of our home support with our best foot forward.”
Tickets for Tuesday’s night’s clash against the Leopards are available to purchase in-person from The Brick Community Stadium Ticket Office and online HERE.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Mago: Come out firing
Such a lot of potential and latent skill in Paddy Mago. Let's hope he gets it together one of these days.

Has Paddy's offload been curtailed? I seem to remember him doing some good offloads at one time, but can't think of many recently.
Wigan

Saints

We're not an offloading side, so I reckon its coached to reduce those. He shifts the ball more than he offloads these days.

Really, I hadn't noticed that. I'll have to watch out for that. So many "props" all over the place these days.Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 8:44 pmI think that is because he tends to fill in for Ellis at 13. When Jai and Bevan are fully fit I think we will see him offloading again.

We seem to score good tries off unexpected offloads so we need do more

Yes indeed, we used to have utility players, we now have utility props.Mike wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2024 11:22 pmReally, I hadn't noticed that. I'll have to watch out for that. What next, Byrne at stand-off

Re: Mago: Come out firing
I think the thing about Mago is, he can pick a pass a lot better than most props. Which always gives us a chance in attack.
