Saints v Salford
Re: Saints v Salford
A draw would have been a nice result, but thanks to stupid Golden Point... does any one like it?

No. That's the worst I have seen Salford play since they got hammered in France. Mbye's match winning tackle should have counted for nothing, nearly all the Saints players were offside at the ptb.

He gave the try and then changed his mind and said it was a double movement?josie andrews wrote: ↑Thu Aug 08, 2024 11:29 pm I thought Makinson’s try was a double movement yet the ref gave it as a try on the field but then sends it up for a double movemen!! Salford were robbed IMO played awful but were still robbed![]()
Or
He gave the try and asked the video ref to check for double movement?

i didnt see the Makinson try, so cant comment re double movement (was watching Olympics at that point
)
however, for the Hankinson try to be given was an absolute farce. There is no way on this earth that should be given
now onto other things, Saints when the kick are virtually always offside / absolutely on the limit of being onside, so nice to see the potential try knocked off because of it as literally every player was in front of the kicker. Salford put one kick up in the 1st half, no calls from the ref, then he pinged one of their players for being in front of the kicker, absolutely double standards of managing the game from the ref. Not once in the 1st half did the ref speak to the Saints players (normally hear it on tv) that they are off / need to give him 10, when it was very clear on TV that they were
golden point - i hate it especially for a league game, and they are all jumping over Mbye like he's just won the cup for them. Let the game be a draw after 80 minutes as both sides deserve a point

Good game and agree, Golden Point is just a waste.
Saints will still be dangerous in the playoffs.

Effectively a penalty shoot out. Just a lottery after 80minutes hard graft should just be a draw honours even

Doesn’t it drive you mad a draw sometimes is the right result as for Knowles be amazed if he didn’t get a few games to think about what he’s done

Just give both teams a point and the golden point can be for an extra point for the winner. That way everyone comes away with something.
