Keighran was great. Wasn't a brilliant spectacle like a Wigan Saints derby should be. Atmosphere felt flat, didn't seem all thunder and guts like normal. Think we were good value for the score despite what the commentators seem to be saying.

Hull FC at home next Sunday, should be well rested, hopefully no ban for Ellis, I think a yellow is all that should be. I'd consider resting a couple for Hull and hopefully be ready to go again the week after against Cats before we play KR at home. Hopefully have French back in soon for the run in.

Ps. No one has mentioned Wardle picking Tommy Makinson up and carrying him about 10 meters. Absolutely brilliant

Great game,

I’m glad MP had sense to put Keighran in the half’s and Eckersley at right centre (not been screaming about that for weeks!!)

Fantastic future for Farrimond, what a player he is and fingers crossed we’ll keep him. That self made try…..reminiscent of Sean Edward’s??

Forwards were solid. Hope MP listens to his team and us and our squad selections for all sanity lol.

…..and that carrying of Makinson 😂😂😂

Think the atmosphere was flat because of the venue if I’m honest!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Absolutely. Magic has always made for a flat atmosphere. I've not been a fan since it's inception. Smaller venues are much better suited for individual games. The idea was nice but it's really just not worth doing anymore imo. I stayed for Wire Leeds and saw half the London Hull game. Neither had a very good atmosphere. It's not going to work doing multiple games in larger stadiums because they will always be pretty empty. It was the same when they did back to back challenge cup semis last season. It's a nice idea in theory, and I think it worked in Newcastle. Their was a bit more of a party atmosphere, but Leeds is a bit different. If its there again I'm not going to bother. I know a few who went last year who didn't fancy it this time around

Delighted by the result - don't care about Saints being bad - that's their problem.
Everyone did well although I'm with Bilko that we haven't used our left side attack as much as we could during recent matches. Marshall's 22 tries are evidence about our potency when we do go down that flank.
Walters, after a pretty rough spell looked like the player we thought he could be and it's likely that playing on the right side, as I'm pretty sure he did at Leeds, is the key. Noticeable that he was very strong at the end when Saints were on their knees. Nsemba seems to be able to play wherever he gets put, so we may have a bit of a problem (in a good way) when Faz comes back.
Obviously, that spell out did Farrimond the power of good and we might be able to give Field a small break against Hull. He's still not quite right and fair play to him for turning out when he's not 100% because the team needs him.
I'm sure Cullen's boys will give Ellis a ban even though the contact with the head was caused by Nsemba pushing the opponent into Ellis who hadn't begun his tackle movement. That probably won't matter because the mere mention of Wigan will trigger an automatic ban. I listened to Joe Mills & Bilko with the Sky sound off but heard at the end Carney desperately trying to get Ellis banned. He was probably trying to make the 'neutral' Wilkin feel a bit better.
Good to see us back where we belong.
