Brad Arthur's Leeds Rhinos future resolved as contract details emerge
Brad Arthur has agreed an initial one-year contract to extend his stay as Leeds head coach. The 50-year-old Australian, who took over at Headingley until the end of the current Betfred Super League season in July, will remain in post until at least the end of the 2025 campaign.
Arthur, who was head coach at 2022 NRL Grand Final winners Parramatta Eels for 10 seasons, told therhinos.co.uk: “I said I would only stay if I felt I could make a difference. It is a big decision to move to the other side of the world, especially for my family.
I feel an initial one-year deal works well for all parties but I am sure we will continue to talk over the next 12 months and make the right decision for all of us about the future beyond that.”
Leeds sporting director Ian Blease said Arthur had already made “a big impact” and added: “His commitment to our club has been unquestionable, heading straight here as soon as the original deal was agreed to get started and leaving his family back home.
Naturally, agreeing to stay longer is a big decision for any family. We are pleased that Brad is here for 2025 and I am sure, as he has already proven, we will continue to plan for the future beyond that when the time is right.”

Brad Arthur's Leeds Rhinos future resolved as contract details emerge
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

If anyone can sort the basket case that is Leeds out it seems to Arthur is the man to do it but it’ll take more than a season to sort them out I think

He's improved them this season, but that wouldnt have been hard with how poorly they were playing at the start of the season. Whilst they beat us a couple of weeks ago, i think thats as far as they are going this season, and certainly cant see them upsetting anyone if they are lucky enough to make top 6

I still feel Leeds are too full of journeymen players but he has Ina few short weeks sorted out the incoherent rabble Rohan smith has left will Leeds be a success with him being there it depends if Arthur wants to stay for a couple of more years but as tonight has proved they’re moving in the right direction
