I agree, there wasn't. But my question is, at that stage in the game, why take the risk?

I also agree with you there. It’s brainless to give a referee the opportunity to card you so late in the game with the result pretty much sorted. Said the same when Harry got sent off at Headingley as the bigger problem then becomes the review panel who seem intent in banning Wigan players for as long as possible. There was nothing in that Leeming challenge so the card should be the end of it.

I'd have no issue with the Leeming binning if it was high or late it was neither so the wrong call.

Thompson next tackle higher
These are two reasons not to trust people.
1. We don't know them.
2. We do know them.

All he did was tackle the player and it wasn’t a penalty. What happened is IMO that the ref had made his mind up to sin bin a Wigan player on the next penalty and instead of waiting for the next penalty went out of his way to blow for one.

Leeming wasn't late and the tackle wasn't high. So where does the penalty come from?
Kendal knew it wasn't late or high and not a penalty.
Officials are looking for any excuse to send players from the field.
Decision was simply not good enough.

Lots of players had improved games, noticeably Wardle, Miski, Field and (especially) Nsemba.
Lots of extra effort in our tackling, Eckersley is case in point, think it was last week thaT Wane said he was a good prospect but "needed a bit more dog", Eckersley brought that today.

That said, we are still a bit clunky in attack, need to sort that for HKR.

I think Kendall was pretty good. I've no complaints with the Fages try, but the Leeming decision was harsh, I think he could be criticised for that. But a team warning had already been given, so again, why give him the opportunity?

I was on a plane when the game was on so didn’t see any of it.
It says on the BBC site that Marshall went off again in the first half. What happened there?
“Usually the fans that abuse players like Sam have never done anything of any note themselves. They’re nobodies, whose greatest claim to fame is abusing someone who has, and these so-called ‘Eddie the Experts’ pretend to their mates that they have."

He slipped into a couple of defenders, hit his head on their knees.

I haven’t gone to Catalan since Covid but lots of my friends are over there & say it "buzzing" 😂

I do know that Flash is over there 😊
It's been a brilliant day Josie, and the atmosphere both at the square pre match and at the game itself was unlike anything since old Wembley. The win put the cherry on the cake, of course, but if anyone hasn't been and is thinking of trying it just do it. You won't regret it! 😁
