To not play Smith, who is the England number 7 and arguably should have been man of the match in the 2022 CC final, the 2024 WCC, the 2023 Grand Final and the 2024 CC final would be ludicrous

Smiths kicking out of hand is the best in SL by some distance. He's won us games purely by keeping us in 'the arm wrestle' when we haven't made many yards on our 4/5 plays

Some interesting comments have been posted both for and against my suggestion. I’m sure that Smith will be selected this weekend and hopefully the 3 match layoff will have refreshed him. He will also be aware that with Farrimond waiting in the wings and the possibility of Keighran playing in the halves he now has competition for his position which can only be a good thing.

Agree with all that.

He will be absolutely bouncing waiting for the game to come round

Hopefully Matty Peet has now had time to remind Smith that his petulant antics aren't good enough and he needs to just concentrate on his game.
Stupid penalties and bans at this time of year, are very detrimental to how far you go in the playoffs.
