Lets get one thing straight mike.Im not asking any ref to give it wigans way or anybody elses.Im asking for consistency and less playacting. The game has gone another level of stupidity recently and is more about drama than actual tough, hard rugby league.Im actually more peed iff with vaughans ban as wire were robbed of a possible top spot and now hes banned just to rub salt in their wounds. Then you get the tool beaumont goading him as cowards do when it goes their way.Maybe you prefer soap operas to rugby but im all for the live game ,without all the replays and man made commentry dramaMike wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 10:39 amCrikey, I remember when the ref got every decision correct and everything was right and good too. Imagine if that did happen. Every decision went wigan's way, every decision was "Correct". Boring.

I don’t recall anything which is why I asked.Wiganer Ted wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 1:56 pmSame as you!nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 1:18 pmWhat specifically did you hear the VR say to the referee?Wiganer Ted wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:54 pm Hope the VR feels suitably chastised! Gave totally the wrong info to the ref.
Leeming wasn't late, not high and was not an illegal tackle.
It was not a penalty let alone an offence which warranted a sin binning.
The VR should have told the match ref no offence and re-start with Field playing the ball.
Trouble is fans as old as me have seen this performance from match officials for decades.
Home crowd gets on the refs back. Ref starts to penalise the opposition/away team, eventually sin binning an away team player. The crowd cheers and are immediately off the referees back!
It's almost routine!
The match referee called a penalty and sin binned Leeming when it was obvious from visual evidence that the Wigan player wasn't late and didn't tackle high. Therefore no offence was committed. The disciplinary committee have obviously come to deduce the same and concluded no sanction is applicable.
The referee to take the action he did can only therefore have been given incorrect info from the VR.
You’re putting 2 and 2 together to make the assumption?

Re: Leeming
This is a general attack against the view that the "game is being ruined/killed" by "referees/VRs/the RFL/law suits" etc and they're never watching again... Several comments espousing this on this thread. The view is not something I agree with and I think its hugely overblown with a great wailing and ganshing of teeth...Shemtatupu wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 2:30 pmDid the rules get changed on personal attacks? I agree on play acting - it has to be stopped. But I'll probably continue watching the game next season just in case.Firestarter wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 3:39 pmLets get one thing straight mike.Im not asking any ref to give it wigans way or anybody elses.Im asking for consistency and less playacting. As soon as the penalty is given (by the ref, incorrectly) its going to be a yellow because of the persistent offending warning we had been given earlier. The play acting (if that's what it was) and VR actually had no bearing on that at all.Wiganer Ted wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 1:56 pmSame as you!nathan_rugby wrote: ↑Tue Sep 03, 2024 1:18 pmWhat specifically did you hear the VR say to the referee?Wiganer Ted wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 4:54 pm Hope the VR feels suitably chastised! However, maybe a green card would have been a good VR recommendation for the ref given no high contact was made. (Kendall did actually say it wasn't late but it was high - which was wrong, but he'd given the pen at that point so that was his decision).
IMO enforced HIA and green cards should be used much more frequently to cut down on the playacting. Frankly if a player stays down after a head impact, surely that's the very definition of when a HIA is required? It seems like if you were actually injured, you'd want a HIA to prevent the issues of repeated head impacts after a concussion, and if you were play acting, well then you shouldn't have been. Take a break and see if you pass...
