Now we're only a few hours from kick-off, how's everyone feeling?

I was a bit nervous earlier today over a few things and wondered how much the anticipation over this match had to do with that! It feels like a pretty big game in the context of things. Here's hoping like other big games this year, Wigan can put in a big performance!

I thought I'd post here instead of the team news post. I hope that's alright!

I'm confident about tonight!

Harry Smith is back; Bevan has a game under is belt; Jai showed a flash of his old self vs Catalans (and it's his birthday!); Junior will be bursting with pride and, most importantly, a big crowd behind us.

"C'mon Wigan!"

I am looking forward to this game with interest.

Firstly I am of the opinion that the LLS is meaningless, or at least not really that important, so for me it's just another game.

However, I think Peet will treat it as a "mini semi final" and for that reason, want to get a certain level of performance from an essentially first choice squad.

For that reason it will show us just how far ahead/far off we are from the likely contenders come playoff time.

The crowd certainly didn't treat the LLS as meaningless, the atmosphere was tremendous and kept up all the way through!

I don’t agree the LLs shield is pointless and think there should be more emphasis around it tbh. I think the shield is too little of a reward and it should be like football with a more substantial trophy and reward

What was the official attendance? I was unable to get to the game (have just watched the recording), and maybe my Google-fu is a little lacking, but it seems surprisingly difficult to obtain this simple piece of information.

16719!!

Although Wigan supposedly sold 16000 tickets? & HKR supposedly brought 2500 think someone’s calculations were a bit off!!

Thanks, Josie! :) Of course, that figure includes STHs, some of whom (like me, unfortunately) were unable to attend. I just found it surprising that a cursory Google search seemed to reveal nothing. At one time, attendances were routinely listed at the match reports in the press. That habit seems to have died out, online as well as in print.
