I have been saying for years now that the Video Ref is the worst addition to our sport and in my opinion has ruined the viewing experience.
I noticed that Wayne Bennett has been calling for the Video Ref (Bunker) to be removed from the NRL, as it allows players to act like they are hurt and chose to tackle a lead runner, to claim an obstruction, leading up to a try.
He goes on to say that we should just go with the Referees decisions and accept that sometimes they will be wrong.
I totally agree with his opinion, let's get back to just playing the game and prevent all the stoppages in play, while incidents and trys are reviewed by a Video Ref.

Thank youGreen Machine wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 7:26 am No Josie, in the NRL they aren’t allowed to kick the conversion until the try is confirmed by the bunker.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Which I am sure he would soon be the first to come out and complain that we have the technology to review things and get the correct decision, if a howler went against the Dolphins, if we can get the correct decision on 99% of occasions why not use the technology we have.Ipinwigan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2024 8:22 am I have been saying for years now that the Video Ref is the worst addition to our sport and in my opinion has ruined the viewing experience.

As for stoppages, when a try is scored the goal kicker always takes a good 2 minutes to take the kick, plenty of time to review the try, I do however agree about reviewing every time a players goes down injured as it promotes the idea of staying down, even if the correct decision is to award a penalty.
