Magic Weekend ties as Super League clubs learn likely 2025 opponents

Post by josie andrews »

The likely 2025 Magic Weekend fixtures.

The 2025 Magic Weekend fixtures have been formalised after the conclusion of the Super League regular season, with the round using the same formula as in recent seasons. The formula is based on league table finishes from 2024 with some tasty ties created, and none more so than for Wigan Warriors, who are set to take on Warrington Wolves.

Elsewhere, Hull KR will meet Salford Red Devils, with Leigh Leopards facing Catalans Dragons. St Helens will take on Leeds Rhinos, while Huddersfield Giants will face Hull FC.

Castleford take on the promoted team under the IMG era, which is largely expected to be Wakefield Trinity. Obviously, London Broncos will drop out of the league next year, with the general understanding that they will be the only change ahead of the final confirmation of IMG-ball next month.

The event, meanwhile, is set to be staged at Newcastle's St James' Park, a decision that will prove to be a popular one after this year's concept at Leeds United's' Elland Road. The north-east city has previously hosted the concept seven times and holds the record

Likely 2025 Magic Weekend fixtures

Wigan Warriors (1st) vs Warrington Wolves (3rd)

Hull KR (2nd) vs Salford Red Devils (4th)
Leigh Leopards (5th) vs Catalans Dragons (7th)
St Helens (6th) vs Leeds Rhinos (8th)
Huddersfield Giants (9th) vs Hull FC (11th)
Castleford Tigers (10th) vs Promoted team (12th)

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
