If the club give him at least a 10 year contract & put a massive release fee the NRL clubs may think twice about poaching Junior, just like Canberra have backed out of the deal for Danny Walker at Warrington because of the massive fee Wire were asking.

It’s the only way we keep our young players if we aren’t bothered about the money like Wire.

It is Josie. My view is that if Junior gets a suitable deal he will stay anyway. He is family oriented and I am not sure that he would be happy if he was separated from them.

Junior is a home bird 😊

I spoke to both him & Tyler at the Academy game last Saturday & asked them if they were happy at Wigan? Both replied ‘very’. I then said don’t be getting any ideas of buggering off to the NRL, it’s not all it’s cracked up to be 😂 They both said no. Both are close to their respective family’s, even though Tyler has moved to Wigan now, but Junior still lives at home with "my Mum" 😊

Hope they live up to their comments 😊 Thats all we can ask for.

Again completely agree with you Josie the longer the deal the better for the club if they come sniffing round when you look at what Walker fee was supposed to be £150k to me that’s a fair amount because didn’t they nab him for Widnes so to me that’s a good fee,but if you take a player who’s come through the ranks then that fee barely covers what a club puts in to bring them through let alone find a replacement.

Junior is a player we all love to watch and I really hope he stays long term and fulfil his huge potential here at Wigan to often Wigan have allowed players to leave sometimes to early they need to fight for players perhaps a bit more than the recent past

Warrington want £200k plus. If Walker wants to go a deal will have to be struck.

Canberra Raiders have backed out because of the fee.
WARRINGTON WOLVESCanberra Raiders ‘make Danny Walker decision’ after Warrington Wolves response

Canberra Raiders are not willing to meet the price tag Warrington Wolves have placed on Danny Walker’s head, according to reports.

Reports emerged last week of a bid for Walker being rejected by the Wolves, with Rugby League Live claiming the hooker had been the subject of a six-figure offer made by the Raiders. Walker still has another two years left to run on his contract but the Raiders had been hoping to persuade Warrington to part with the England international in the off-season.

The Raiders have already bagged Matty Nicholson for the 2025 season and with reports down under claiming Walker was open to the idea of a move to the NRL, the Raiders seemed to move with optimism

https://www.seriousaboutrl.com/canberra ... nse-97180/

However, after being unsuccessful with the first offer, they will not be returning with another. At least that’s according to the Canberra Times, with a report describing Warrington’s transfer demands as ‘ridiculous’.

It comes just days after Sam Burgess claimed Warrington would only sell Walker if an offer deemed to be worthwhile.
