Super League's 2025 loop fixtures as rugby league moves into IMG era
The likely Super League loop fixtures for 2025.
Super League loop fixtures are set to return for the 2025 competition. The 27 regular rounds will once again see four extra fixtures wedged into the calendar alongside the Magic Weekend round.
The format, as has been the case for the last couple of years, will stay the same and is based on league positions from the previous league table. That sees all the even-placed sides from 2024 play each other for a third time, with the same for the odd-placed sides.
For example, Wigan Warriors, as the 1st place team, see their loop fixtures against the 5th, 7th, 9th, and 11th placed sides. They will play the 3rd-place team at the Magic Weekend, the 5th and 9th placed teams at home, and the 7th and 11th-placed teams away.
Meanwhile, Hull KR, as the 2nd-place side, will play their loop fixtures against those who finished in the 6th, 8th, 10th, and 12th positions. They will face the 4th-placed side at the Magic Weekend, the teams who finished 6th and 10th at home and 8th and 12th away.
Of course, not all of those loop fixtures are certain for the 2025 season, with all twelve Super League teams still to be confirmed as rugby league moves into the IMG era. However, with Wakefield Trinity expected to replace London Broncos as the only change next year, we have a good idea of what the fixtures will look like.
Avoiding a last place finish, Hull FC will take the 11th-placed spot ahead of the promoted club in 12th spot. If more clubs come into Super League under IMG, then Hull would move to 10th, with the highest-ranked promoted club 11th and the second promoted club 12th.
Working on the scenario of a one club change, here are the loop and Magic Weekend fixtures for the 2025 season.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

I found this post from Bilko on Twitter
IF they keep the same format for loop fixtures next year Wigan would get an extra match against
Magic: Warrington (Magic)
Home: Leigh & Huddersfield
Away: Catalan & Hull FC
Warrington wouldn't have a league trip to our stadium at all next season.

How does that work, then? Twelve teams in the comp, so if everyone plays everyone else home and away, that's 22 games. Plus 4 loop fixtures, plus Magic round, makes 27. So how can Bilko say Warrington don't come to us? Am I missing something here?

I wonder if the match in Vegas would've otherwise been the "home" game against Warrington?

We play Wire on Las Vegas.
I don't really get Bilko's point. It was the clubs themselves wot came up with the Vegas plan.
If Hull KR had lost to Leeds at the weekend we wouldn't have had a loop fixture against Wire, home or away, to make up for the Vegas match.

Vegas IS a HOME GAME, why do you think lots of people aren’t happy about it!
We took a home game to Millwall!
Home game to Australia & paid for the other team to go! Same as Vegas I’m led to believe!!

As usual when Radlinski takes the club on tour it’s the home fans that miss out on a game,no doubt the season ticket price will rise either way.

We might, just might, draw them at home in the Cup!

Yeah, OK, sorry about that. I completely forgot about the Vegas game.
I went to Millwall, Josie, but I'm drawing the line at Vegas!
