Four Warriors named in 2024 Dream Team

Post by josie andrews »

FOUR WIGAN WARRIORS PLAYERS HAVE BEEN INCLUDED IN THE 2024 BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE DREAM TEAM.

As voted by the Man of Steel panellists, this year’s Dream Team includes Warriors’ Liam Marshall, Luke Thompson, Jake Wardle and Junior Nsemba, who is the youngest player to be selected.

Nsemba receives his first Dream Team inclusion after a breakthrough campaign has seen the second row forward score seven tries in 22 Betfred Super League appearances.

Marshall, who leads the Betfred Super League try scoring charts with 27, has also been selected for the first time alongside left-edge partner Wardle who is the only member of the 2023 Dream Team to retain his place after recording nine tries and 15 assists this campaign.

An impressive first season in Cherry and White for Thompson has been rewarded with a third Dream Team selection adding to inclusions in 2018 and 2019.

The Warriors are the most represented Club ahead of Warrington Wolves who have three players included in the Dream Team. Hull KR and Salford Red Devils each have two players selected whilst Leeds Rhinos and St Helens have one.

On presenting players with their shirts, Sculthorpe said: “I’ll be honoured to present the players with their Dream Team jerseys. It’s a reflection of outstanding form all through the Super League season and it’s great to see that recognised.”

The four are fine and well deserved, but O'Neil has been unlucky.

two 7's shoe horned in without a number 6, just shows how they've tried to justify both Sneyd and Lewis being in the running for the MoS

Field, French and O'Neill have all had spells out injured, so probably miss out on that alone, but probably not far off being included

goes about his business very quietly and efficiently and probably un-noticed by most other than Wigan fans. He also hasnt has Sky blowing smoke up his arse all season like Minchella. i've no issue with Minchella at 13 though as he's a fine player and come on over the last 2-3 seasons, and probably closest to the old traditional 13 who plays the ball quite a bit
