LIAM MARSHALL LOOKS AHEAD TO AN ‘EXCITING ENCOUNTER’ AGAINST LEIGH LEOPARDS IN THE BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE PLAY-OFF SEMI-FINALS.

The Warriors take on the Leopards at The Brick Community Stadium on Saturday evening for a place in the Betfred Super League Grand Final at Old Trafford.

Looking ahead to the highly anticipated clash, Marshall said: “We can’t wait. At the start of the season we set out to reach the play-offs and to play in these big games – now we’re 80 minutes from Old Trafford. The fact it’s a Battle of the Borough clash makes it even more exciting.”

Speaking on the Warriors’ training preparations, Marshall said: “We had a week off from a fixture, but not from training. We went on a camp to Bath where we were able to get some really tough but quality sessions in. [The focus] was to improve but this week it’s about trying to keep things as normal as possible. We’ve prepared in the way that’s best for us, and we’re in a good position.”

On facing Leigh Leopards, Marshall said: “They’re a big threat with some outstanding players. It will be a tough test as they’ll be coming here hungry in a Grand Final shoot-out, but we’ve got our game plan and hopefully we can execute it to beat them.”

On knock out rugby, Marshall added: “Form goes out the window in these winner takes all matches so it’s down to who can turn up on the night and do the business. Leigh will be determined but so are we which sets up an exciting encounter.”

With more than 15,000 tickets already sold for Saturday’s Betfred Super League play-off semi-final against Leigh Leopards, don’t miss out on securing your seat online HERE. Tickets can also be purchased from The Brick Community Stadium Ticket Office.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
