Still possible to knock a ball forwards regardless of where you are looking. Knock ons happen from hands /arms, not heads.Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 10:32 am One thing confused me. When Marshall dropped the ball and it was given a knock on, he was facing his own posts.
How can that be a knock on?
We were always taught to catch the ball from a kick off facing our own posts, so if we dropped it , it was play on.
Have the rules changed?
There was another odd decision from last night, but i've forgotten!

Agreed, but for that to happen the player would essentially have to "pull" the ball towards him. The natural path of the ball would mean it travels backwards in the vast majority of situations. Like last night for example.........

Remarkably efficient and impressive. I was going to say that you can only beat what's in front of you but really it should be you can only beat the team that's coached by Adrian Lam. It's not our problem now but you can see exactly why he wasn't retained by Wigan.
Good to see Walters coming back to some kind of form and reminding us of why he was bought but Nsemba was a shoo-in for MOM. He is now quite awesome.
And our left flank must be the best since Richards and Carmont and the best in the league currently.
Nice to see Josh fit and well after last week's scare and heartening to hear him being applauded by both sets of fans.
On to Manc and unless the RFL go mad (and it's been known) and put Liam Moore or Smith in charge, we should be favourites against the only real competition in the league this year.
Concentration, focus and application should see us through - and maybe just a touch of French 'magique' would be the icing on that gateau.

Have to say thought Kendall was very good yesterday he let the game flow which is not always the case when he ref’s anyone to be fair when he’s like that he is a very good referee then he has one of his “picky” days granted not helped by teams themselves at times I wish all refs would be as good as he was last night and consistently so.

I 99% agree about Dupree. He's looked good the last couple of games in particular.moto748 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 12:20 amYes, really impressed with Forber; for a little guy, he has a great tackling technique. Also Dupree, who I thought was excellent tonight.widdenoldboy wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2024 10:04 pm Was expecting a very tight game at least for 50/60 minutes, Leigh were the form team and made short work of Salford last week.
We just looked a class apart, very patient and professional and then cut loose at will - a memorable performance.
Hard to fault anyone, picking just a couple of positives - Forber's defence was superb and glad for Walter's performance - hopefully he can kick on from that.
My 1% is from the 2nd half. He threw a dodgy offload and then an unnecessary penalty. Peet brought him off soon after, but he was back after a few minutes. My guess is he had a little "talking to" to calm down.
I'm sure the instructions at half time would have included something along the lines of "The game is almost won, but it's ours to lose. Don't do owt daft, and no cards." Tyler seems to have a wee bit of "divil" in him.

The ball seemed to hit the Leigh player as well. marginal call but I still thought it went back, the other odd one was Moylan batting the ball back in play with his foot in touch and play continuing?Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 10:32 am One thing confused me. You're right, Chariots. The really encouraging thing is that we seem to know how and when to switch into A game mode.
I'm cautiously optimistic for the GF, but also aware that Rovers will have a say, and, like Leeds over the last 2 seasons, they have the ability to be disruptive.

Good points Morley they can’t get sucked into their game and play like they did last night and it’ll be ok we shall see.morley pie eater wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 12:27 pmYou're right, Chariots. The really encouraging thing is that we seem to know how and when to switch into A game mode.

That was a bit odd with the foot on the line but I wouldn't dream of saying that touch judges are as much use as a chocolate teapot and could never be sponsored by Specsavers.widdenoldboy wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 12:22 pmThe ball seemed to hit the Leigh player as well. marginal call but I still thought it went back, the other odd one was Moylan batting the ball back in play with his foot in touch and play continuing?Wintergreen wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2024 10:32 am One thing confused me. I Thought we were fantastic across the field last night and the reason Leigh were so poor was we made it that way . Harry kicked them to death and then our forwards butchered em allowing us a lot of time in there half for our backs to play as we know we can . Lam Junior and Moylan were made to look pretty crap .
Roll on next week and even though it will be a different ball game , I’m hoping for more of the same . As Chariots said , if we bring our A game no one can live with us .
