MATT PEET SPOKE TO THE PRESS AT OLD TRAFFORD AHEAD OF SATURDAY’S BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE GRAND FINAL AGAINST HULL KR.
Looking ahead to the Grand Final, Peet said: “It’s a real honour and privilege to be here representing the Club. I’m proud of the season we’ve had and now we get our opportunity on Saturday to finish in the ideal way. I want to enjoy the week first without wishing it away but it’s going to be fantastic being part of this occasion – we’re all super determined to bring the trophy home.”
Peet added: “There’s real momentum behind our Club at the moment and the connection between the players and the community is brilliant. I’m proud to be a part of it and I hope we can get the performance and result right come Saturday.”
Reflecting on last year’s Grand Final victory over Catalans Dragons, Peet said: “It was great and one that ended in the perfect style. We enjoyed the whole experience from the build up, getting training right, and then our fans turned up in huge numbers to deliver a real carnival atmosphere. I’m looking forward to seeing our players experience that again this Saturday.”
Speaking on the season so far, Peet said: “We’ve had to peak several times starting with the World Club Challenge. Even though there’s been ups and downs, the whole group has remained committed whilst learning. What you hope now is the lessons learnt throughout the season will stand us in good stead in the Grand Final.”
On facing Hull KR, Peet said: “Quite a lot of our toughest games in recent years have been against Hull KR so we know we’ve got to be close to our best to get a result.”

Peet previews Grand Final
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
