Again, couldn't agree more!

I would have thought that promoting the game of RL should be a high priority for the RFL. Sadly, history tells a different story.

The opportunity to create true stars, or even superstars, comes along very rarely in our sport. If we, as a game, don't seize it with both hands, then it would be indicative of a much greater malaise. This is the moment for IMG to step up and prove its worth.

Create genuine stars and everything else will follow.

I think partly there's that British mentality in which we are almost too obsessed with the underdog story. For some reason in British culture we much prefer someone who doesn't win but tries really hard - i guess it could be seen as a virtue whereas countries like America and Australia its all about the winning

So like for example coach of the year, Matty wins everything and they give it to Peters - now thats not to say Peters hasnt done an amazing job but at the time the award is given he's won nothing

It's not quite as simple as that.

How's your interest in Volleyball? Name any stars?

Well like it or not, that's about the level of interest in Rugby League in most parts of the UK.

The product can be as brilliant as you like but until you fix the above, it's irrelevant.

Wish I had the answer, but I don't.

But you said its not that simple which might be true but the statement is true

For me the start point is simple, allow players to market their own image rights and the earnings to exist outside the cap.

Cleary didn't win coach of year in Aus

I’m never one to try and stir the pot but I’ll say this, while Wigan have kept on winning for the most part this season I’m not sure they’ve been as attractive to watch as they have been in the first couple of years of Peets reign for me it’s only in the last few games since the return of Nevan has the side began to click as we all know they can do,let’s hope that carries on for one more game this year, but I’m not unhappy that Peter’s has won coach of the year they have been attractive to watch at times and given that’s what this is all about a glorified beauty contest than he ticks the right boxes.

As for man of steel they have to judge it better than this or else there will never be another prop forward who’ll win it I don’t have that answer but at the moment it’s broken

To be honest it's a bit of a vague memory but I think it was Rads at one of the legends or fan forums events so it would be the Warriors leading the promotion. Sorry that I can't be more specific.
