Did he mean to say “He wouldn’t fit into our team”?

Who cares what the Aussies think, this is aimed at our half backs.Innocent Bystander wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 9:56 am I don’t think Radlinski has done himself or the club any favours with these comments. Coming straight after Penrith showing disinterest in playing a World Club Challenge match his words sounded petulant and silly, like a slighted man lashing out. Not great from a man in his position. Needless to say the comments are all over NRL media and social media and it’s not reflecting well on either Radkinski or Wigan. Cleary is the finest half back in a far superior competition. No disrespect to either Smith or French, both fine players, but Cleary is on a different level.

Well Radlinski obviously cares or he wouldn’t have come up with this stuff. This was all about getting a reaction from the Aussies. Unfortunately for him I don’t think he got one he was expecting.Mike wrote: ↑Thu Oct 17, 2024 2:38 pmWho cares what the Aussies think, this is aimed at our half backs.Innocent Bystander wrote: ↑Wed Oct 16, 2024 9:56 am I don’t think Radlinski has done himself or the club any favours with these comments. Nah, it was about making sure our halves aren't unsettled by the cleary speculation. That's my opinion anyway.Innocent Bystander wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 11:33 amWell Radlinski obviously cares or he wouldn’t have come up with this stuff. I don't know about timing but Cleary has said it isn't happening anytime soon.Mike wrote: ↑Fri Oct 18, 2024 12:42 pmNah, it was about making sure our halves aren't unsettled by the cleary speculation. FWIW I think it was a daft thing to say, and has not shown the club in a good light. "Irritating Aussie fans" may well be good fun for us, but it shouldn't be the business of SL clubs.

I said on an Aussie forum when the heading was about Rads/Cleary. Why is everyone misinterpreting his comment? He’s isn’t disrespecting Cleary, he was saying he was happy with our halfbacks & what is the point of losing our English 7 who is on along term deal, to replace him with an Aussie who may only stay 1 or 2 years! Where would we fit him into our squad?

I just think silence from Rads was the best option. Daft internet talk about Nathan Cleary playing in SL was always just that, just cos his girlfriend plays football here. It's ridiculous to think he would even consider it (at this stage in his career). No benefit in Rads associating the club with this rubbish, even indirectly.

Poor choice of words from KR.
Could have phrased it differently. Should have done so. A simple. "we are happy with the balance between our current half backs" would have sufficed.
Not the brightest button in the box though is KR.
I still squirm at his "'Wiganer's eyes" comments about the "new" badge.
