Magic Weekend 2025 Confirmed
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Magic Weekend 2025 Confirmed
Warrington Wolves and Wigan Warriors Magic Weekend history
“WIGAN again?”
Warrington Wolves could have been forgiven for thinking just that when their Magic Weekend opponents for next year were revealed.
On Sunday, it was confirmed that The Wire will face the defending Super League champions in the middle Sunday slot of Magic Weekend 2025, which returns to Newcastle’s St James’ Park over the weekend of May 3-4.
It will be the fifth time the two clubs have faced each other in eight Magic Weekends, with Wigan extending their record of being Warrington’s most frequent Magic opponent.
Magic fixtures were worked out based on their finishing positions in the 2024 Super League table - 1v3, 2v4, 5v7, 6v8, 9v11 and 10v12 - hence the two neighbours were paired with each other once again.
Wire have the edge in the previous four meetings having won twice – 26-14 at Anfield in 2019 and 10-6 in Newcastle in 2021.
Wigan were 38-10 victors on Tyneside in 2018, which came a year after the two sides had drawn 24-24 at the home of Newcastle United FC.
The victory over Leeds Rhinos at Elland Road in August took Warrington’s overall Magic Weekend record to 10 victories, six defeats and the aforementioned 2017 draw in 17 matches.
