LIAM MARSHALL HAS REFLECTED ON THE ‘TOUGH’ OPENING DAYS OF THE WARRIORS’ TRAINING CAMP IN TENERIFE.

The Warriors are continuing their preparations for the upcoming season at Tenerife Top Training – a High Performance Centre offering sports teams the best facilities in Europe.

Providing an update from Costa Adeje, Marshall said: “We’re feeling good and it’s nice to be here in warmer weather. Your body seems to feel fresher and more energetic when you’re out in the sun, but that takes its toll towards the back end of sessions.

“There’s a tendency to think when you come abroad that it’s a holiday, but it’s definitely not – we’re here to work. The first days have been tough and we know things will only ramp up from here.”

Since arriving on Tuesday afternoon, Matt Peet’s side have completed intense gym and field sessions in the Mediterranean heat.

Praising the training facilities, Marshall said: “They’re great. There’s pictures on the walls showing other teams who have been here and some of those are high class organisations. We’re very fortunate to be here as a Club. We have all the things in place for this to be a successful training camp which is exciting leading into the season.”

Marshall, who finished as the Betfred Super League top try scorer in 2024, gained his first pre-season minutes at AMT Headingley Stadium last weekend. Despite the defeat, the winger believes friendly has provided a firm focus for training in Tenerife.

“Leeds was a good run out for the lads,” Marshall said. “We don’t read too much into pre-season results but there’s definitely parts of the game we can improve and tweak. We’ve got a clear focus for training and this is the perfect opportunity to improve those areas heading into Sheffield.”

The Warriors start their Challenge Cup defence against Sheffield Eagles on Friday 7 February (7:30pm K.O.). Tickets for the Third Round tie at Sheffield Olympic Legacy Park can only be purchased directly through Sheffield Eagles HERE. https://sheffieldeagles.ticketco.events ... n_warriors

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
