They should do a bit of background work on the player first then the questions could be more personal but still have some of the generic ones

I’ve given up now because it’s got do tedious with the young lady asking each player exactly word for word the same questions Could she not get a new question sheet with a bit of variety to it or even go off topic with the players answers ??
It’s so annoying, so unnatural. She’s been doing it for years now surely she knows how to make an interview flow.

Just watched Peat interview re Sheffield. The usual banal questions but when Mattie says havard has pulled his hamstring the obvious next question would be is it serious/ how long will he be missing. But no not a word onto the next written down question. Words fail me with the quality of there interviews

Three interviews at the SL launch first comment " Well Anna, it’s that time of year again?"
"Well Faz, it’s that time of year again…."
"Well Matt, it’s that time of year again…."

Also can they not cut out the background noise as i could hardly hear Anna or Liam’s replies! 🤨

Both Liam & Matt "Friday sees the CC, a bit earlier this year…."

"We played Sheffield last year a bit of a rematch…"

"Keeping one eye on the opening game next week…"

It’s worse than the BBC with constant repeats!

That's just the ultra-micro-managed world of modern professional sport. A journalist would have asked that question, but they don't like people at the club being interviewed by anyone from outside the club except when necessary. A journalist can write or say what they want, but someone working for the club has to do whatever the club asks of them and nothing goes out that the club doesn't approve of. This crap is by design.

So now everything is done in-house for as little cost as possible, churning out low-effort, largely worthless 'content'. Local reporters get some access because clubs know that if that person ever got on the wrong side of them they could make things difficult and they'd lose their job.

It also helps that if you restrict opportunities for independent journalists there won't be many people left to report on your club if they ever do something negative. The clubs can control the narrative. It's already the case that RL media outlets are becoming news aggregators and will just report press releases without question.

I seem to remember getting an email saying something along the likes of season tickets can get 50% off, so I emailed & asked if it was just for new subscribers. Got an auto reply saying received my mail & will get back to me, this was a few weeks ago. Didn’t receive any further mail so just deleted it & carried on as normal.

This evening I got a notification that I had money taken out of my bank & an email invoice confirming it
Details

Your plan:
Season Ticket Offer (£38.99)

Next invoice date:
Feb 7, 2026

Date Description Amount
Feb 7, 2025 – Feb 7, 2026 Season Ticket Offer £38.99
Subtotal: £19.49
Paid: £19.49
Total: £0.00
Thank you very much. If you don’t ask you don’t get 😊
