Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

(Deep breath) - he did improve as the season went on so I hope it's that Moore we see and not the early season one. (I may live to regret this post!)

Re: Referee for Thursday
I'm afraid I'm going to have to respectfully disagree.
Whether it made any difference or not to the result, it was an unacceptable performance. 40 minutes of letting everything go including high shots (check out Liam's black eye) lying on and forward passes was followed by 40 minutes of increasingly bizarre decisions.
It culminated in the farcical sin-binning of Farrell when a competent ref would have given Wigan a kickable penalty and possibly sent Hughes to the bin.
Moore should be stood down but won't be and if the tactics of killing the game by slowing the PTB carries on, we won't be seeing high attendances again.

I’d be willing a pound coin as to say Moore will be the ref in vegas but we shall see.
I try not to have a go at the ref but he was very inconsistent last night I’ll leave it at that

Not sure I agree with you Southern Softy, yes the PTB was slow and I think a few six again's could have maybe made a statement to the teams and we could have got a quicker game but overall I don't think Moore did too much wrong, he missed a blatant knock on as he was looking up and down the line for offside (that really should be for the linesman to do) but apart from that he refed each team consistently, I thought.
There were a few high shots which I did wonder if they had forgotten about the new protocols but he missed them for both sides, maybe they have been told to try and let the games flow a bit better, who knows, but quicker PTB's are key to a good fast game, unfortunately for us we don't always deal with the to well, so maybe a good thing that he let us/them lie on so much

Re: Referee for Thursday
He’s the worst ref in super league in my opinion.

I'd say he's usually one of the better ones. As for the p-t-b; yes, it was slower than I'd like, but no worse than what we typically see in most SL games, IMO.
