i know the other thread has been locked, so have created this but more around what its actually achieved and the interest that it has generated, nationally which is something that we've been discussing across other threads for quite a while
Yes, we can probably all think its a gimmick / stupid / WTF etc etc, but take a look what the marketing manager has posted on linked in and what Warrington have achieved out of it
Is renaming the stadium for one game a bit gimmicky? Yeah, of course it is.
But within an hour, it was on every national news outlet. Millions of people got a Sky Sports News notification about it. Halliwell Jones (the real masterminds here) got the media exposure equivalent of three years’ sponsorship in a day. BY NOT SPONSORING THE STADIUM FOR A GAME.
But the real story? This is a homecoming. If Luke Littler were an Olympian, no one would bat an eyelid at a civic reception. No one questions it when 15,000 people gather in front of the Golden Gates after a Challenge Cup win. Luke’s done something phenomenal - and where better for Warrington to celebrate than a Wire home game?
We've played the PR game, sure. But first and foremost, it’s about recognising a local lad who’s done something special. See you there.

That’s a better thread, post & a link
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

It is and when i read the post that he'd put on it showed how much interest they had generated nationally and this was the bit that really stuck out
"got the media exposure equivalent of three years’ sponsorship in a day"
if only other clubs tried something different and i'm pretty sure Wire and Wigan lead the way when it comes to trying different things. I know as fans we may not like or appreciate them all, but we cant knock the club for trying something different and not just letting us and the game rot
Re: Luke Littler stadium part deux
As soon as his name was announced with Warrington, he LOST his next match it says it all

they have rebranded the stadium too and crossed out the Halliwell Jones as part of it. Getting them loads of media coverage so fair play to them. this is one post i'd seen earlier from Karl Fitzpatrick

Great PR work by Warrington last night. What Luke has achieved in the last 12 months or so is incredible. Local talent should get the recognition they deserve.

Saw the interview with Littler and Ashton fair play to him. It's good to see the game get some publicity he looked excited to be there
