JAI FIELD AND BEVAN FRENCH HAVE PRAISED THE LAS VEGAS TRAINING FACILITIES AS THE WARRIORS PREPARE TO TAKE ON WARRINGTON WOLVES.
Wigan and Warrington will contest the first Betfred Super League fixture to be played in the United States at the Allegiant Stadium this Saturday.
Having arrived in the Sports and Entertainment Capital of the World on Monday evening, Matt Peet’s side trained at the UFC Performance Institute before their preparations continued out on the field.
Praising the training environment, French said: “It’s a real eye-opener being in a new environment, but the facilities here are wonderful. Some of our boys are big UFC fans and it’s been a pleasure training in the same place as many other wonderful athletes.
“We started with a light session on Tuesday after a long flight, but the pace has definitely picked up. The intensity will continue to increase as we lead into the match.”
On Las Vegas, French added: “I’ve loved the experience so far. You can see why so many people come to visit as there’s so much to do. The city itself is very aesthetically pleasing will all the new buildings, modern facilitates and an incredible stadium.”
Sharing the positivity, Field added: “Sometimes as players we don’t fully understand just how much planning goes on behind the scenes. We’ve had the chance to look around Vegas and to get our bearings, but now we’re ready to get out on the training pitch as we work towards Saturday.”
Looking ahead to playing at the Allegiant Stadium, Field said: “The stadium looks unreal. I’ve watched a lot of NFL games that have bee played there as well as the two NRL matches in Vegas last season. We are all excited to get out there and experience playing at the stadium ourselves.”

Field and French preview Warrington clash in Vegas
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Liam Farrell on historic Vegas tie
LIAM FARRELL HAS ENVISIONED THE ‘SURREAL’ MOMENT OF CAPTAINING WIGAN WARRIORS IN A HISTORIC BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE CLASH AGAINST WARRINGTON WOLVES IN LAS VEGAS.
Farrell is set to become the second captain to lead Wigan out in the United States after Ellery Hanley in the Great American Challenge victory over Warrington in 1989.
As the clubs prepare to write further history when contesting the first Betfred Super League fixture in America, Farrell has expressed his excitement prior to the showpiece event.
“It’s going to be a surreal experience playing in Vegas,” Farrell said. “To lead the Club out and play in a venue like the Allegiant Stadium will be such a special and proud moment. This will certainly be a fixture that’s remembered.”
Farrell has played in an impressive collection of stadiums throughout a remarkable club and international career, with the 65,000-capacity arena in the heart of Vegas to sit high in the rankings.
“I’ve played at some great venues throughout my career and the Allegiant Stadium will be amongst the best,” he said. “The stadium has hosted the biggest sporting events in the world so to take Wigan Warriors and the Super League competition there will be special.”
As the Vegas spectacle stages a repeat of the 2024 Betfred Challenge Cup Final, the Wigan skipper has shared his delight in facing Warrington in the sports and entertainment capital of the world.
“It’s fantastic that Warrington were up for the challenge and that they’ll be creating the spectacle with us,” he said.
“The Challenge Cup Final was massive, and this match has that cup final feeling as well. I’m sure when we get closer to the week, the build-up will be just as big and that’s something we are all looking forward to experiencing.”
Having hosted two NRL fixtures for the first time last year, the Allegiant Stadium will welcome rugby league back for a bigger, bolder, and better festival.
With thousands of Wigan and Warrington supporters to takeover Vegas, Farrell believes the event will have a lasting global impact on rugby league.
“To take the Club on a wider map and allow others to experience rugby league in a country where it’s not often played is important,” he said. “I’m sure if everyone gets the chance to sit down and watch, then they’ll enjoy what we have to give.”
