Hull v Leigh
Re: Hull v Leigh
And as for the game, I was half-watching it down the pub, but they turned if off to put the darts on
and I think it was 16-18 at that point if I remember rightly. And yeah, it looked a decent contest from what I saw.

Re: Hull v Leigh
I don’t watch the NRL anymore even though I get it with Sky Sports.
So what happens, the ref awards a try/no try, but asks the “bunker’, "check that last score". The teams carry on playing while someone else is checking the try?
If whoever is watching then decides "Hey that last score wasn’t a try Mate". Do they then, say 10 minutes later, "wipe that last score off"??
That doesn’t make sense to me! But then again I’m thick!
And that is one of the reasons I stopped watching the NRL, they keep coming up with some of these ideas & changing the game.
Everyone keeps saying it’s a simple game, but it gets more & more confusing.
Then we have the RFL …… oh & the disciplinary…..
It was a good game with both teams deservedly getting a point. But without the "golden point" extra time please. I don’t like it
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Re: Hull v Leigh
i could only watch to half time
i was spewing with the Hull fans as the ref was so biased / inconsistent in his decisions in the 1st half. 2 Hull players sin binned for marginally high tackles, nothing with intent or dangerous. Leigh players do exactly the same and not even spoken to, all we ask for is consistent decisions within a game
at HT Lachlan Lam went over to the ref griping, did he not have a feel for the game and how Leigh had been piggy backed into the game and they didnt take the opportunity to put the game to bed
besides all of the above, i really enjoyed the 1st half with some good play from both sides. Hull moved the ball better than Leigh did IMO, but Leigh seem to have signed a couple of good players with Niu and Armstrong

I havent watched the game personally as im still in san fran after the vegas game.Lets get one thong very very straight.Leigh are/ have been getting their own way for a while now and the rugby league are letting it happen. The sin bins ate killing the game and seem to be regularly in their favour.I know coz i have plenty bandwaggon mayes from leigh who actually think the refs are great atm( even the wigan game when we had 2 in the bin).Pees me off tbh and ive expressed my feeling a lot recently.Cant stand whingeing locky lam( he proper does my head in). Nowt to do with them doing well as i stated its been going on for a while
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE
Re: Hull v Leigh
The Ref and Video Ref last night and to be honest most games, are clueless, they have no conviction in what they have seen.
It takes the Video Ref far too long to make a decision, if they even do, there seems to be more copping out, with the Captain's Challenge and non-conclusive decisions being made.
The Video Ref is being used far too often, trys, on field incidents and now the Captain's Challenge.
For the vast majority of the calls they are watching the same video footage over and over again before coming to any conclusion.
The whole process needs to be much faster, or as I would prefer, not be used at all, go back to the good old days when a Ref had to make a decision himself. There are always going to be mistakes made, human error and even with the Video Ref we still have errors FFS.
I did think that Hull got on the wrong end of some bad decsisions last night, the two sin bins should never have been made, a penalty for both at the most.

It's not just the challenges that are to blame, it's the over use of the Video Ref in general, lack of decisions being made by the Ref.

my wife has started watching Wigan with me, more because the girls have grown up and arent at home, so no-one int house to talk with
she's slowly understanding the game but asked me last Saturday and again last night, why does the ref nearly always go to the screen for tries? That's from someone who doesnt fully understand the game yet, but i could only say that they love seeing themselves on TV
. When someone new to the game is questioning why the refs go to the screen so much, then that just says its used too much IMO, especially when they re-run and re-run when it can be clearly seen on the 1st pass whether it is or isnt. For example Liam Marshall 1st try on Saturday, looked good, so no issues with the ref checking, but on the 1st run, you could see the ball come free, no need to play it another 4 or 5 times, just make the decision and get on with the game

Re: Hull v Leigh
I agree it wasn't very well reffed but both sides seemed brainless, ill-disciplined and not top-rate.
Sezer might have been unlucky with his sin-binning but with a man in the bin , you don't start giving away penalties on every play to then go down to 11. Similarly, with Leigh, if you're playing against 11 men, you don't give away a string of penalties to keep them in the game.
Tactical kicking was terrible (not just Lam as usual) and it was no advert for the game.

Hi moto, it has already been confirmed that we can't do that as we cannot rewind the 'clock' to when the try was scored, if it then turns out it was not a try.
I watched the game and I thought the two inconclusive decisions were a joke, you could clearly see Dwyer reefing at the ball with his hands as he had been bumped off the player, so not 'just making a tackle' and the foot in touch looked clear as day as well to me.
