Have you got your application for head coach ready with it all being so simple?
What a stupid post to make on a forum. Are we not allowed to criticise? We lost a lot of shape and organisation even before Ellis had to go off.
Havent you learned you arnt allowed opinions on this site.Yes matty got it wrong big time today ,which is very rare
This is only the second time he has I think.

I agree with SLG. Eckersley not French, we lost our attack from then on.
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

If it was it has cost the club a lot of money with a potential return to Wembley gone.

The club meeds to forget about Vegas. Ever since they have returned the club has seemingly not stopped talking about it and how successful it was etc. Maybe. the players think they are yhe God’s gift and it has gone to their heads but they can forget about all that now. Beaten by a poor team simply because of attitude in my opinion.

Maybe we should have rested a few v Hudds and taken Hull/CC more seriously?

Likely Field out for a month at the very least and Ellis for 1 game, likewise Keighran?
Would we risk promoting Hodkinson/Lowe now - Hill can cover for Ellis?

This is why i think we should bleed the odd youngster every now and again ,rather than throwing them in at the deep end.We are now obviously gonna be thin versus leeds and hopefully the players that get called up are in their correct positions.Im not convinced that wing is eckersleys position and would rather see an actual winger there. If we do lose at leeds then i can see that quota spot being fillied very soon.Hopefully its just a blip and we bounce back next week but i really cant see it tbh.
IF YOU STRIKE ME DOWN I WILL BECOME MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE

Wigan1 wrote: Sat Mar 15, 2025 7:34 pm Awful, didn’t deserve to win. Someone needs to teach our wingers to defend their wings, they are stood in field far too often. Sezer threw the same pass 3 times and they scored each time, why don’t we learn!!
We definitely didn’t fix up the problem which is very un-Wigan like.
Agree, but we put Marshall on our right for the last try and he did the same as Ecky.
That whole right side was at sixes and sevens. They were all biting in to cover one another. We had Eckersley, who is not really a winger, Faz, who is not a centre and an injured AK who is not a half all defending together and being covered by Bev, who has not played fullback in almost a year. The only surprise is that the coaching staff thought that would be ok!

There are lots of lessons to be learned from that across the board. Even the best teams are only as good as the attitude they play with and I thought ours was wrong in several areas, not least from the coaching staff who reacted far too late.

This is not hindsight btw. I said at the game that moving Bev to fullback was the wrong move. Too much unnecessary disruption handed the initiative to Hull who were good enough to spot the weaknesses and take advantage.

And then we moved Marshall over to the right, and that didn't help either. But Hull scoring that try with twelve men; that was the thing.

Credit to Hull and the new coaching team, they showed the attitude and desire to stick in the game when they would have folded last year.

We persisted with keeping Adam on the pitch far too long, it was obvious that he couldn't defend and it had a knock on with everyone else on that side overcompensating. Hull had the ideal half in Sezer to exploit that. One for the coaching team to learn from,

The bigger problem though was our lack of discipline with the ball in the 2nd half. So many times we gave away pens, lost the ball, didn't finish sets. We only needed to keep the pressure on in their half and we had a big enough lead to defend it,

We seem to have the odd game every season where our discipline just goes very ragged - the players are human after all.....

I think the big takeaway for me is, not to take winning for granted, enjoy the wins when you get them as we can't win everything, and cut the team some slack when they have the odd f*ck up .
