WWfans and adverts
I don't want to seem ungrateful to Mike, Josie or Meds, but the ads on the site are seriously pushing me to the point of giving up (good news for some, I know!)
I appreciate that if costs go run the forum, and the ads pay for that, but I for one would gladly pay a subscription if we could get rid of them. It's so annoying having half the screen covered or playing the "find the hidden X" game to get rid of a full screen ad.
What do others think?

I also agree re the adverts. Maybe if possible the costs of running the site could be shared so we could use that to come up with ideas on how to cover the costs without adverts?
Re: WWfans and adverts
The ads have become a little more intrusive of late for sure but it can’t be cheap keeping this place going

They are annoying and I haven't actually changed anything on my side. Google I guess just keeps pushing more and more out.
We made a substantial loss last year (because the team was so good!) so I can't afford to drop any at the moment. Server costs are > 1000 pounds per year, and the adverts can cover that in a good year, but last year we were nowhere close.

Well yes, they're targeted ads based on a lot of things to do with searches online and things you've bought or showed an interest in buying. However I seem to be being targeted to buy tickets to some sort of ballroom dance championships at the momentancientnloyal wrote: ↑Mon Mar 17, 2025 10:21 pm I get ads for stuff. Regarder une fille en bikini, c'est comme avoir un revolver chargé sur sa table:
Il n'y a rien de mal a ça mais il est difficile de penser à autre chose.
Now Europe is just for holidays.

I don’t see many adverts!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
