Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Fantastic, mind you it’s better than having him as the VR.

Awful referee but at the moment, it shouldn't make too much difference. It will be a scrap but let's not get suckered in by psychopaths like Bentley.
Re: Referee for Saturday
Absolute disgrace this fella we get no penalties or six agains in 80 minutes, they get 7 or8 of both absolute wrong un

I agree with MickW. Thought we did get the single penalty but no 6 agains.
That's why I've not been to Leeds since Trent Barrett was in the team.
It's like going back 20-30 years when we went to Leeds and we're 9-1 down on the pen count and around 26-6 down on the score board by 60 mins. By full time the pen count was 11-10 to Leeds but the game was long gone. Commentators of course never mentioned it but the grown ups in the room were well aware of what was going on.
Tonight Jack Smith was a throwback to those days.

Jack Smith didn't do any leg-pulls or flops, though. They're avoidable.

Jack Smith didn't give us the penalties and 6 agains when Leeds made the leg pulls and when they flopped. That's the whole point.
When a ref does that to a team then there's really no point in getting on the bus. Trouble is the team do have to get on the bus but supporters don't have to get in the car and pay good money and give validation for that rubbish.

TBF I do recall some 6 agains - always on the first tackle though.
Outside of this game and over recent years and several coaches we seem naive in lying on etc when we get into trouble and the refs ping us, most other teams do this subtly and get away with it? Just an observation.
Re: Referee for Saturday
Also, I thought we had several feasible opportunities for a Captain's Challenge, and didn't make them. Keeping it in reserve is all very well and good, but we ended up wasting it anyway.

The knock on by ryan hall, chasing back a kick, comes to mind.It was an obvious knock on all day .Not blaming the ref one bit but some decisions were strange, to say the least
