As frustrating as it is to lose Keighran and Field, I am looking forward to seeing decent runs for Eckersley and Farrimond and maybe some minutes for lads like Douglas and Lowe, over the next few weeks, if needed.
If Miski is fit I'd go-
French
Miski Eckersley Wardle Marshall
Farrimond Smith
Byrne Leeming Thompson
Farrell Nsemba Ellis
Subs
Mago Dupree Walters Forber
Douglas in for Miski of he's not right and Hill in for Ellis, of he isn't available.

Re: Selection vs Leeds
Hope Mago's fitter than he was against Hull - he hardly did any minutes and was palpably knackered. Still concerned with Eckersley's defence, although he shouldn't be as exposed in the centres.
I'm also worried about Harry having to cover all the conversions for 3 months.

Re: Selection vs Leeds
I suppose the good thing is we've got options, we just need to find the thing that works.
Farrimond in the halves seems likely if he's not carrying an injury, with French to fullback. Has Farrimond's defence improved enough since last year? I guess we'll just have to see. The worry would be if Miski is still missing and we had Farrimond, Eckersley and Douglas on the right. A real lack of experience right there even if Farrell is alongside them in the back row.
Eckersley to fullback is an option as he did well there previously but Farrell at centre just doesn't fill me with confidence. If Miski returns then that Farrell-Miski pairing could be absolutely tormented by a team with pace on their left edge. If Miski doens't play then Farrell-Douglas also seems a bit questionable as a pairing too.
I feel like Eckersley to centre is the best choice in an ideal world. It would mean either Farrimond in the halves as mentioned above or Noah Hodkinson at fullback. I wouldn't be averse to that as I think it's less disruptive but do the coaching staff think he's ready?
We also need another goalkicking option because Harry Smith can be erratic. Both Farrimond and Eckersley can kick goals so I'd be expecting them to get a lot of practice in because it could be that little bit extra that gets them into the side ahead of someone else.

Which in Sundays was very little common sense when everyone around me saying the same thing take him off like a Wigan version of the masked singerCharriots Offiah wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 4:38 pmIt shouldn’t just be a matter of how the player is feeling, it’s what he can contribute.WarriorWinger wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 4:20 pmDon't forget the medical staff and coaches ask the players themselves how they are feeling and if they feel they can carry on, no one other than the player at that point knows how bad the injury is, if they could scan it and get instant results then great, don't let him return to the field, but if the player says 'it's not too bad and I am okay, then sometimes they have to take the players word for it as well, had it turned out to be a bit of bruising and he needed a week off, then some would be saying it would have been crazy to take him off.SLG Wiganer wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 4:16 pm A complete lack of duty of care towards Keighran from all and sundry. I’m sure he was happy to stay on and tough it out and I’m sure the coaching staff were happy on that basis but then we need the medical staff to step in.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
