ABK Ashes Series Confirmed

Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

disappointed with Headingley for the final test though, its almost as though they are expecting the series to be over and done with so lets have the smallest crowd for the final game
Headingly is a very strange choice, less than 20,000 capacity! The DW or Huddersfield would have been a better shout if they want to use an RL stadium.
it is a weird but not unexpected choice

my issue, is that if its 1:1, then demand is going to be ridiculous, and then lots of disappointed fans who wont be able to go. I even think DW, Hull or Hudds would have been wrong choices, if we want to showcase the game on the biggest stage, and Newcastle, or one of the Sheffield grounds would have been slightly better if available, but not Elland Rd as its archaic, but thats my personal opinion

I agree with your comments pieman about the possibility of Headingley being too small if it's 1:1 after two games. It would be a shame if thousands of people who wanted to go couldn't get a ticket but today's marketing gurus seem to think it's great to have an event be oversubscribed. I don't get it myself but they seem to think that everybody fighting to get a limited number of tickets is a good thing and gets lots of coverage on social media.

Woods comes back and his buddy heatherington get the final game

Yes I know this is pure tinfoil and not factual.
These are two reasons not to trust people.

I have a bit of advice for the RFL on how to fill Wembley:
In the 90s I organised school trips to Wembley for International RL matches. For a school taking a bus load, the kids got their tickets for £3 each with 3 or 4 free tickets for teachers.

Our coach always stopped at Leicester Forest services on the way down to Wembley, and the bus/lorry park was rammed full of coaches from Hull, Leeds, Halifax, Bradford etc etc etc. This was before the M6 and M1 join, so I'm sure the Lancashire schools filled busloads too.

At Wembley, we all sat in the front 10 or 15 rows, not usually in big demand. As well as helping to fill the stadium, looking better on telly (good for IMG points), this was helping to create future fans, as kids would go who had no previous interest in Rugby League. When Sky came along, we got evening kick-offs and school trips stopped.

What are the chances of them doing it this time? Very close to zero, I'd guess, as they're probably too busy falling out with each other.

As far as sorting problems out at Everton's new place. I'd stay in touch with any Everton season ticket holders you know to see how they find getting to and from the BM Dock site.
As you'll know they've had plenty problems on the two test nights.
I hope it's sorted it but I wouldn't bet on it!

I’m sick to death of Rhodri Jones & the rest of the Yorkshire fecking mafia keep saying Leeds is the best ground in SL 🤬🤬

They must get paid every time they say it!
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

i've just seen an interview with Jones and Wane

Jones logic is that if they sell out Headingley 1st then fans will buy tickets for Everton and Wembley - you really couldnt make it up, and it was dead good when they played Tonga and Samoa there.

I hope if the series goes to 1-1 that it doesn’t rain on the day of the decider, all the umbrellas on the western terrace isn’t going to look good for a sport that’s looking to push itself to an elite level
