Got something to discuss about RL in general? Then this is the place to post it.

I'd have to say Welsby and Ashton for sure, Williams a strong maybe, Walmsley if fit and willing?
i've just got the game on in the background now

i think Welsby will be a shoe in with Williams

Just commented on the winger position, so Ashton is in a pool of 4 or 5 that i think will be vying for 3rd winger

Yeh, I'd forgotten about the "competition" for their positions - we have a good pool of wingers, not so much at standoff - Lewis for sure and maybe Farrimond if he develops at the same rate as last season.

Farrimond is way off imo. Needs a lot more game time

Yeah, he is, but trying to think of promising young halves in SL, and apart from Mikey Lewis, not too many others spring to mind for me. Any thoughts?

Walmsley is nowhere near good enough to play test match rugby now.

It'll probably be Lomax but you've got the potential of Will Pryce depending how he does at Hull. Id even throw Rowan Milnes from Cas into the mix ahead of Farrimond

for the halves i think we are safe to think he'll pick Smith at 7, but depending upon how Dodd goes in Oz, he may come into contention

then you would think he'd go Williams at 6 as i think he likes that combination

now the noise will come if Lewis is not picked and if we dont have a recognised kicker in the starting 13, then for Sneyd too. Now i personally dont think Sneyd should be anywhere near an international side, but that's just my opinion. I think he's a decent club player, but no more than that

Will Pryce could be a good shout, especially if he has a decent season with Hull

back onto the Wire v Saints game, i watched it / had it on in the background yesterday. It looked like Ashton lost confidence after being caught by Welsby the 1st time. So, instead of backing himself to take him with pace, he looked to be trying to stop / start, but credit to Welsby he had him in his pocket defensively on Sunday
