Peet previews Hull KR

* Matt Peet has previewed Friday night’s Betfred Super League visit to Hull KR, in association with Greenmount Projects.

* Peet: “We’re going to have our hands full and we know we’ll have to be at our very best.”

* Fewer than 50 tickets remain available to buy online HERE.

MATT PEET HAS LOOKED AHEAD TO FRIDAY NIGHT’S HIGHLY ANTICIPATED BETFRED SUPER LEAGUE ROUND SEVEN VISIT TO HULL KR.

The Warriors take on the unbeaten league leaders at Sewell Group Craven Park in the first meeting between the teams since Bevan French’s sole try completed a historic Grand Slam winning season for Peet’s side at Old Trafford.

Reflecting on the preparation ahead of the clash, Peet said: “We’ve had a weekend without a game when we’d have rather been playing for a semi-final. That presented an opportunity to push that little bit harder in training which will hopefully stand us in good stead for what’s to come on Friday night.”

Peet added: “The lads have trained hard [in that period] and we’ve got work in the bank. We worked on all aspects of our game which included going back to basics. We tend to feel when we narrow our focus and get the basics right, some of our exciting moments come off the back of that.”

Looking ahead to Friday night, Peet said: “It’s an exciting game. We’re going to have our hands full and we know we’ll have to be at our very best, but it’s one that can bring that. Both teams have been involved in some great games – wins and loses – and Friday night will be another cracking game.”

Praising Hull KR, Peet said: “They’ve been fantastic, as they have been for a few years. The Club’s been heading in the right direction for a long time, and now they’re getting the success they deserve. Even before Willie [Peters] was involved you could see good things were building – atmosphere and investors – but he’s taken things to another level.”

The hosts have won their last nine matches on home soil, and on the challenge ahead, Peet said: “Hull KR are a good team, who don’t lose many away as well. Their fans are passionate and loud, and even though they’ve modernised their ground, it still has that old school feel. It’s going to be difficult, but it’s a game all players love playing in.”

Providing an update on injuries, Peet said: “Adam [Keighran] and Ethan [Havard] are long-term. Ethan’s progressing well, ticking all the boxes and in good spirits. Abbas will need a procedure at some point in the year, but we’re hoping to get him on the field some time in the next month or so.”

Fewer than 50 tickets remain available for Friday night’s clash against Hull KR. Don’t miss out by securing your seat from The Brick Community Stadium Ticket Office or online HERE.

Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan

Maybe I'm wrong but I'm sure Miski had an op in the off season and that was why he was slowly integrating into games? I didn't realise he was injured either again or pre op
