I’ve just read he’s only back for the magic weekend game because of a calf strain. We are in a world of trouble in the front row without him and Havard.

Yet others on here think we are well stacked with props, I'm with you, it's going to be a tough month aheadSLG Wiganer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 5:31 pm I’ve just read he’s only back for the magic weekend game because of a calf strain. I think with Thompson out, surely we must be considering changing the game plan from the 'up the jumper' one out hit ups followed by a kick. We have dangerous, quick backs. We need to get the ball to them more.

I'm not sure that is our current plan.Blackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:25 pm I think with Thompson out, surely we must be considering changing the game plan from the 'up the jumper' one out hit ups followed by a kick. We have dangerous, quick backs. We need to get the ball to them more.

So your saying that we played a game plan of one up hits followed by a kick in - lets say - Vegas? One of the most exciting attacking displays I've ever seen? Or against Hull FC when we put 30 odd on them in the first half?Blackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 8:09 pmIt has been for a long timeMike wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:43 pmI'm not sure that is our current plan.Blackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 7:25 pm I think with Thompson out, surely we must be considering changing the game plan from the 'up the jumper' one out hit ups followed by a kick. Hmm, I wonder if he has been playing hurt or it happened v Salford?
We are well stacked for props but their form has been hit and miss this year and I reckon Byrne picked up a knock v Leeds. Walters has stepped into the role as a replacement very well - can he start at prop and lead the line?

I'm talking very generally. Vegas was a massive one off. That first hour was as good as we've played for a long long time. Our game plan seems to be four hit ups followed by a kick and turn the game into an arm wrestle. If we get into good positions we do throw it wide, but generally we tend to play safe. It's been the plan for a while. It's worked most of the time, don't get me wrong, but we've struggled this season to make the yards. With Thompson out we will struggle further. I expect 2 starting props and 3 on the bench with Walters, Hill, Byrne, Dupree and Mago. All 5 need big games to get us a foothold in the game.Mike wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 8:34 pmSo your saying that we played a game plan of one up hits followed by a kick in - lets say - Vegas? Looking forward to a good game Two good teams clash! No Charriots the team with the most points om the board wins every time. Fact!Charriots Offiah wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 12:46 pmI don’t think you are right there, Walters and Nsembe have made plenty with Faz contributing about 90-100 yards per game. The game will be won by the team that defends best.Blackpool_Pie wrote: ↑Wed Apr 09, 2025 12:34 pm We're in a world of trouble without Thompson. The only forward who has made yards over the last few games
