Pleased for Kaide, he's improved in his time here and has been playing really well this season. I think all fans have grown to appreciate how important he is to the team. I'd have thought two years with an option was sensible but I'm sure he's very happy with the deal.
I think Kaide, like Bevan, is another Aussie who Wigan have improved no end.
The way these guys are prepared to commit to the club says a lot about where we are. Very pleasing.
Good to retain that strong well connected group of aussies in French, Field, Ellis, Miski and AK. Seeing many of them sign long term contracts together with other stars like Smith and Junior just builds that desire to stay together and really achieve something special over the next few years.
Keeping the up and coming younger players happy is going to be an interesting challenge over the next few years though.
Spoke to Kaide after the game, I said well done on the new deal.
He replied he didn’t want to leave here "I’m a Wiganer now, I love it here & wasn’t wanting to go anywhere else".
Anyone can support a team when it is winning, that takes no courage.
But to stand behind a team, to defend a team when it is down and really needs you,
that takes a lot of courage. #18thMan
