Too right, how can Mbye;s leading with the shoulder into Eckersley's head when he is stood pretty much upright be compared with Bennison slipping down into Walter's shoulder (also proves Walters was "bending his back" in the tackle?).

It feels like one of the biggest shifts in a players standing at a club I can recall. He hardly played last year, was still only seen as a back up second rower a few weeks ago and now looks like nailed on certainty at prop and is not just doing a job but has probably been the best prop in the league over the last month (him or Ese'Ese).

I don't see how he gets left out of our starting 13 going forward and personally he'd be in my England 17 as well for the Ashes. A new long term deal would probably be a wise move.

I was gutted when he did that as I thought he was a great signing from Leeds and could not believe they didn’t manage to retain him.

Mind you it’s quite common new signings are expected to be great from the start when it can take season for them to get up to speed even if they don’t get a serious injury. A good example being Ellis. In my opinion his standing at the club increased in a similar way to Walters. Plenty thought he was a bit crap in his first season as well.

i met Pat and Danny Tickle at the tesco in Hindley the day after we had lost a game. They were getting absolute pelters from some fans, and he was even told to go back to Oz by one fan (using the term loosely)

back onto Walters, and there is no doubt that the injury buggered up his 1st season with us, and he was starting to get up to speed at the back end of the season. he was outstanding in the play off semi, and unlucky not to play in the GF, but it was always going to be a tough one to oust Faz from the GF

There was certainly some of that but even if we ignore the fans and look at Peet, he seemed to have little trust in Walters at times last season and even going in to this. It's gone from him struggling for minutes, to him playing pretty much full games now, in the middle of the field. As good as he was at Leeds in that last season, I didn't see him as a lad who could come in and play huge minutes in the middle, make 100+ metres every week and make 45/50 tackles, like he has been doing. He's producing statistical performances at the moment that I'm not sure we've seen from a Wigan prop for a long while. Even Thompson, who has been absolutely huge for us, hasn't quite knocked out the numbers Walters is. It's the expectation against the reality of what he's producing at the moment that has surprised me. Long may it continue.

Said that a few weeks ago. Can't see that the talks are not ongoing now between the club and Sam's agent.

It would make quite a few of us on here happy signing him up on, say, a four year deal.
Sam certainly playing very well.

He did interview in supporters club bar after saints. Said he and his family loved it in wigan and he's even bought a house here. So imo going nowhere soon.
