Warrington vs St Helens
Warrington vs St Helens
Mark Snede catches a stray elbow from Sam Powell as Mark Percival is awarded a contentious try just before half time and has failed his HIA so will be unavailable next week. Thats both Warrington half backs out of Magic Weekend
We have the history Sentelins wish they had

I just hope we don't become too complacent, because they are missing.
They need to treat it like Vegas again.

Re: Warrington vs St Helens
Matty Ashton has also failed an HIA. John Wilkin says after the match that Senteliz were on the wrong end of to many bad refereeing decisions. What a shame after the ref did such a good job with Percivals second try.

Re: Warrington vs St Helens
only watched 1st half
Tries looked too easy for both sides, without building too much pressure, and came from simple errors
as others have mentioned, the Percival try just before half time, how can the ref give that, unless he was absolutely 100% certain, as the VR had no chance based on what he could see. If he's given it because Percival raised his arm, and another couple of Saints players came in to celebrate, then its poor form

Re: Warrington vs St Helens
They looked like two sides on the slide. The Percival try was ludicrous. The footage was so inconclusive, the video ref had to agree with the original decision which was guess work. Better to have an onfield option that says the ref cannot be sure so it would have been ruled out because there was no evidence of the ball being touched down. Anything other than that is tampering with the principles of the game where a try scored is the most important thing.

I didnt think he got it down and surely the ref should be able to say”im not sure”.this rule is a must. Also when percival nearly scored im shocked that it wasnt a pen for saints as he defo had his shorts tugged. Very poor and inconsistent officiatingSouthern Softy wrote: ↑Fri Apr 25, 2025 9:27 am They looked like two sides on the slide. The Percival try was ludicrous. Said it before, but on balance, I like the rugby union formulation (or it used to be so, they keep changing the laws in Union so I'm not sure). two options: "Any reason I can't award the try?", and "Try; yes or no?" for when the onfield ref is unsighted/doesn't know. But no system is perfect, and all will draw some objections.
