Faz

Post by warriors »

I have heard alot of people taking about Faz. Saying that he has played one game in rugby union. Some say it is because he is injured, (but when he was playing for us he was injured alot but he still played. Broken nose, damaged knee etc) some say that he cant play rugby union.

People have been saying that he might come back to wigan. I hope that he does, because then we will have a proper captain and a awesome player.

What do you lot think?

Well, I never wanted him to go, and think both he and the club could have arranged things a bit better for him to leave at the end of last season instead of partway through. Our current squad is sorely missing a leader and a one-legged Farrell would be better than no leader. The only real questionmark in my mind would be the injuries - how bad are they really? Hardly any of his current injuries are rugby related, but they are clearly very serious and stopping him playing, but what's wrong with him exactly? Would he fit enough in time to help us before r********n, in the hypothetical situation of him rejoining the club?

It would be great to get faz back but realistically its never going to happen as he decided to leave wigan to go to union and for the money and wigan arent going to offer more than union to win him back.

I think that he is one of the best players that wigan had.

I'd have him back tomorrow. He should never have been allowed to leave in the first place.

I was going crazy at the time the rumours started of him leaving. I said the club was mad not to get him to honour his contract.

I was in a minority expressing that view with many saying we had no right to keep him if he wanted to leave or words to that effect.

Seemingly Mo also let sentiment rule his head. He let Farrell leave because he had given such good service to the club. Utter madness in a professional sport. Did Mo honestly think losing Farrell could be shrugged off?

If Mo had come out as soon as the rumours started and said "A team doesn't sell its best player". that is all he would have had to do to put an end to it.

That is what we did. We sold the best player in the side. Most stupid decision Mo has ever made.

The club fought to keep players in the past like Connolly and Robinson when the ARL/SL war was on down under but rolled over without a fight as far as Farrell was concerned.

I am sure Farrell would have been professional enough himself to see his contract out and I am convinced were this what had happened we would not be in the state we are in now.

We'll never know, will we. I mean, would he be back playing even now?

Massive loss that he is, you can't deny that receiving a hefty fee for a player you have had for 10 yrs and that hasn't touched a ball since is not a bad bit of business.

Ah but Humble Pie could taste good if he got us back to winning ways; so don't be narrow minded !
