We have gone through more coaches than Shearings. This is making us the laughing stock of the rl.

why are people backing millward? fair enoguh it may be unfair on him but he hasn't done anything.
like a few people have said in the past he inherrited a good saitns team and just bought players to add to it. when he is placed in a sticky situation with a bunch of clowns that are on poor form with alot of injuries he can't turn things around. only then do you find out how good of a coach he really is.

Hold on a minute. Millward took a Leigh team from the bottom of their division right to the very top. You don't do that without knowing a bit about coaching.

With regard to why people are backing him, in my case it's because I think he has been shafted by ML. I was only told last week that Millward had better watch out as he had made an enemy of Maurice. I thought nothing of the comment until this happened.

I think it's Fraggle that holds the opinion that getting rid of ML won't achieve anything. That is not the issue IMO. The issue is should ML have a job at our club based on his recent performance. Basil went because of his performance - why can't that apply to Maurice?

Has everyone forgotten our results under Millward at the end of last season, when we won 5 out of the last six games?

I'm not a supporter or hater of Millward but I think this is totally the wrong decision as it will further unsettle the camp. Plus Who is going to come to a once prestegious club that is now bottom of the league. If John Kear rears his head we've had it he's only got a carrer stat of 40% wins.

Who do you think will realistically take the helm the state the clubs in????

Not sure if i've entered the above qoute correctly, but we'll soon see...

Its about time someone mentioned how well IM did at Leigh. I was never sure at first whether he was the man for the job, but I do remember back then (one whole year ago) people saying we'd have to wait and see. Surely we could have waited at least to see what IM could do with a full squad of players. The new couch will have the same problems.

Also, I don't subscribe to the notion of, "The players didn't want to play for him". I remember JOhn Dorahy getting sacked after we won the league because the players didn't like him. They still played some great rugby and went out there to win.

The likes of Brown, Moran, Orr, Vaeliki, etc, didn't seem to want to play for Betts either.

yes, but there is no point dwelling on the past. its what he is donig now that is important and he wasn't doing anything. he is now unemployed :D same with tickle. everyone says how great his season was last year, fair enough he was one of our best but theres no point what so ever remembering what he has done. its what needs to be done now.

Hello!!

Long time Wiganer, first time poster.

What I think people are forgetting is that we don't have a bad team. The 1st half against Leeds and the 2nd half against Wakefield proved it to me. The players are playing badly and it must be for a reason. The amount of dropped balls against Wakefield suggests to me that they need to get back to basic rugby and that isn't a way that Millward wants them to play. the other option is that, as rumoured Millward has lost the players. The results as well gives them no option but to sack him. (another rumour states that there is some sort of rift between the Ausie/NZ players and the Home grown lads don't know how true this is but it would suggest that someone has to come in and bring the team together). I was shocked to hear that Millward was gone but the next couple of games will tell how good a decision it is. my fingers are crossed

Thank you for your time!
