I don't think Noble has that much to lose.
We are already 4 points adrift at the bottom of the table, if he can get us back up the table, not necessarily into the playoffs. Then he will be hailed as a success. If he brings silverware to the club in the future it will do no end of good for his coaching CV, the man who made wigan into a championship winning team again. If we get relegated :( he can say he took over a club in dire straights that needed too much to keep it in the superleague. Then there is the money, I am sure he will be getting paid a pretty penny for his services. If he does relish a challenge, then this is the job for him, I don't think he has got all that much to lose. I personally think it is a done deal and he will be unveilled as the next coach this evening or tomorrow morning. He is a good coach and is already doing a good job of that at Bradford, IMO his style of play will suit us better than Millwards of all out attack, which we have displayed we aren't that good at yet. I couldn't stand Millward when he was at Stains, but he was a good coach none the less. When he came to Wigan I was quite excited because I was thinking if he can make us as entertaining as Stains to watch it would be great. My only criticism of his methods were that defence didn't seem a priority to him, he had the atitude at Stains that we will just have to score more tries than the opposition, which with our lack of inspiration at key positions was never going to work.

I dont know if im behind the time on this one but in last nights manchester evening news the Bradford Bulls media man, cant remember his name sorry, stated in the paper that Wigan had agreed a compensation package with Bradford, and that Tuesday nights game is definately Nobles last in charge of Bradford! If this has already been talked about then apologys to all, but only got home from nightshift an hour ago!!!

You've just forked out £400,000 to boot that whining Ozzie and now you'll have to stump up over half a million to get anyone to even look at the job.
Noble is the GB coach and most players will lift their game when selection time comes round. Therefore WHICHEVER club he is coaching will be on the receiving end of an upgraded performance towards the end of regular SL - do you really want to be that club?
P.S. Calderwood - had scored 9 tries this time last year

The club is Dave Whelan's toy, and it's his money. Coaching staff don't count in the salary cap so if he wants to spend lots of money paying off coaches then I guess it's up to him. He's had lots of practice at it with the Latics in recent years, and with us as well.

Apparently he has got a few quid from a couple of shops that sell sports stuff. He also owns the towns Football team and the strain on his purse strings by each club is hardly comparable. I think he can afford to pay off one coach and sign a new one, it is hardly in the same league as premiership coaches wages.

It makes a change us getting the rub of the green from the RFL so this might balance out some shockers oer the last two years.
We need a coach so if DW is prepared to pay that is fine by me.

Calderwood had 9 tries but he didnt score them on his own your quality halfbacks and great centres gave a little help.

We have neither quality halfbacks or centres but hopefully this will change.

Calderwood has been unlucky not to score 3 or 4 tries. That is not to say he is getting anywhere near the same service that he did at Leeds.
