Interesting, Feka at hooker, wagga at scrum half and moran at loose forward, with only 2 subs :conf:bec-wigan-4lyf posted:
i fink they have made a mistake in not having o'carroll on the team, i think that he is a really good player and has pride in wearing the wigan shirt!! That's what we need more of, people who are proud to wear the shirt and want to play for us. If i was picking the team i would have:
Ashton
Richards
Goulding
Gleeson
Dallas
Orr
Godwin
Tickle
Feka
Seusu
James
O'loughlin
Moran
Subs:
Higham
O'carroll
squad for Saturday...

Whatever 17 we pick, we need to start with the strongest 13 we have, or at least the best 6 forwards we have available. I'm sick of going into a game and its gone after the first 15 minutes. For once I would like to get to half time in the lead, or at least still in the game.
We need our best 13 on the field, we need to start off brightly, do all the little things right.
We need to complete our first few sets without dropping the ball, and put in some good kicks at the end of each set. Pin Hudds deep in their own half, and defend like our SL survival counts on it, which it does. If we can manage this and get past the first 15 mins and not end up 18 points behind, confidence will rise and it will give them a lift and a little self belief.
What I dont want to see is us take the field with Hargreaves and Wilkes at prop saving Seuseu and Feka for later in the game. By the time they get on the field, our forwards have been bullied and made no yards, heads start to drop, we start dropping the ball and we leak points.
Lest get off to a good start and get our foot in the door and give ourselves a fighting chance. To do that we need our best 13 from the start to really get stuck in and not let Hudds think they can bully us into submission within the first 10 minutes of the game.
We need to start with:
Seuseu, Higham, Feka
Fletch, Tickle
Lockers
With Hargreaves, Wilkes, and Godwin on the bench plus whoever else they choose.
This pack has some size and experience and is capable of working the Huddersfield pack, we need to really get stuck in, play aggresive, but keep it legal. If we can do all this we put ourselves in with a chance.
